quick coilover question...

so i was looking into stance lx+ or the gr+, the car will never be tracked and i love my car wayy too much (and i'm still paying on it) to take it out to the mountains for some "fun driving" with that said it's primary purpouse is a comfy cruiser... i was wondering though how the "true" coilovers bare weight on the rear, because i know the spring from the mid-link would be gone so all the weight is on the sheetmetal, i was wondering if that's good/bad for the car/ride quality and those with "true" coilovers did you completely remove your midlinks? i'm sorry i didnt find an answer through search and i'm currently in iraq so i cant even look at my car... to give me an opinion/ rest my mind. i think G35papa has some "true coils" mind to chime in? either way any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you wan't a comfy cruiser, do not get the gr+. I just took them off and put on the LX because they were just too stiff for my liking. I haven't driven on the LX yet so I can't give you a full review on them. The gr+ are pretty stiff but do give you a stiff sporty ride.

You can go aftermarket if you want something more rigid for the mid-link (SPL sells some). Having true coilovers on the G puts alot more pressure on the lower shock mounting bushing. I haven't driven it enough or hard enough to see how much pressure before it gives.

I think the sedan being a little longer than the coupe (not as compact), you can feel the ride quality (stiffness of the springs) on a true coilover more so than on the coupe. I rode in a coupe with the same setup and it wasn't as rigid as on the sedan.

Hope this 2 cents helps

damn it papa always 12 steps ahead of me... i'll catch up to your status one day, probably when u sell the g, thanks a lot that helps with decision of which to go with because i didnt think it'd be too healthy to take all the weight off the designed parts.....i trust the nissan engineers quick question did u go with the 350z set up?

If your not going to the track or the mountains why do you what coilovers? Waste of money. If you what to lower you car just go with new springs.

^You'll need shocks sooner than later if you just go with springs.

Sell the g? Never! lol

I'm pretty sure there is no difference between the ones for the G and the Z.

I've had the LX+ for 4 months now and love them. They are a nice smooth ride set at 10 all the way around (15 way adjustable) My only gripe is they arent stiff enough for me now that i have a +5 offset up front. There is too much travel and the tire hits the sidemarker/bumper bracket.

If you're not running an aggressive wheel/tire setup and aren't going to lower the car 3" then you'll have no problem and will love them. Even in spirited driving they were great before i put the 20's on.

There is no difference between the Z/G when ordering coilovers.

@G35papa & Gdup35sedan: ty for the input.
living in crappy seattle has put me in a morass because of the crap roads and steep hills.
I initially wanted to go the bag route but after going search crazy....I believe stance lx+ seems to be a better alternative.
