Dropped On Espelir GT Springs *Pics*

I'm happy with the drop so far.

All that is needed is a F&R camber kit and rear spring mount mod. Mounts are already cut. I just have to re-install them until I get a rear camber kit to save as much tire as I can.

The drop is nice. Looks like S-tech front's and H-tech rear's. The advertised drop is .5 F&R but it's way more than that in the front for sure.

the one thing I like about these sprigs is the increased spring rate (409/515) over the REVISED springs (314/427), unlike most drop springs that have a softer or equal spring rate than the revised suspension. Ride is slightly firmer on compression but with the increased stiffness and OEM shocks, it suffers on the rebound. D-spec's will be needed for sure especially in the rear. I haven't driven much on it yet, but it feels more biased to the rear so far.

IMO you've painted yourself into a corner. D-specs have a 450lbs spring rate cap and by the time you pay for koni's that can cover the rates, your not too far away from what it would cost to get Eibach Pro-S coilovers. Tein 350Z S-tech's would have been a better choice and within the capacity of your oem shocks, at least in the rear for sure. I have tested a ton of spring rate combo's, being within 20lbs of the oem rear 427lbs rate is a non issue. Totally different then when we're talking about being at or below non sport spring rates.

Tein S-tech 350z (fronts are progressive, rears are linear) .7”/.6” drop on 350Z G35 drops will be higher
Spring rates in LBS 386/402 (estimated front intial rate is 327lbs)


As much as I distain a lot of spring choices avaliable for the G and Z, either they drop too much, too soft, not linear ect. I have to say most of the choices are within the capacity of most oem shocks to control. As my master list of avaliable springs mention's, I don't see the Espelir springs as one of those springs that oem shocks will work with. In a perfect world we would have more choices.

I will consider Tein S-techs as another option.

I'm one of those people who believe in function>form.

Keep in mind that you can have shocks revalved to deal with higher spring rates. On my old GTi, I had a set of springs from Bildon Motorsports that were set for road course. The drop wasn't substantial, but it was effectively a 400% increase in spring rate. No one had shocks that could deal with the rates within my price range.

I elected to take my worn Bilstein sports and have them rebuilt and revalved to match the springs. It wasn't cheap, but it was still half the cost of getting the equivalent coilovers. The only thing that I wasn't able to do was have the car corner balanced, but careful relocation of the battery got me pretty close.

So long as the shock you want to revalve have the capability of going low without bottoming out, I see no problem with doing it for a G.

350z s-techs have very similar spring rates to the OEM sport setup and were my choice before I went with coilovers. Your drop will be considerably lower with the s-techs. You probably don't even need camber kits with the drop you have right now.

should jus went tanable nf 210. wouldnt have had to do anything and the drop woulda been a bit lower from what i see

Tanabe NF210 Springs G35 COUPE progressive springs 1”/,6” drop on G35 coupe G35 sedan drop will be higher
Spring rates in LBS 297/336
Beware, a 1" drop on springs that are softer then oem springs.
NF210's are too soft and are also progressive just like my Espelir's. Not linear. I'd rather get S-Techs which have a linear rear and stiffer rate than NF210's. Even with a slight drop, I still scrape at work. Any lower would leave me stuck.
