replacing just the Compression rod bushings
replacing just the Compression rod bushings
Hello All,
I was wondering if somebody could direct me to a thread or help me out wth a question about installing just the compression rod bushings.
I planned on buying these from Ebay in which an infiniti dealership is offering them at $25 each. My fear is that I will get them and my mechanic will not be able to install them. They say in the listing that you need a press and special tools but I cannot find out what they are to verify with my mechanic first.
Has anybody ever bought these and had any trouble installing them or is there a thread that gives directions and tools needed?
Please let me know as I would rather do this instead of order a whole new rod for 6X the price but then again don't want to be stuck without my car if my mechanic messes it up. As you can tell I have little faith in him so if you are a mechanic near Boston who can also do this let me know.
Thanks

It never hurts to ask-give a call to your mechanic and talk to him. I bet he's got the press, it's nothing like particle accelerator.
It is 1-1.5 max hour job though, do not let him rip you a new one.
