Pretty much everyone will tell you to start at the middle and then change it as you drive around. Everyone has different tolerances of what is too stiff and how much increased handling they want. Plus everyone's driving environment is different, if you have a crap ton of pot holes you are probably not going to end up as stiff as someone in a nice area. It is adjustable for a reason, to suit the needs and environment of the user.

I didn't have to drill holes in my 03 coupe. I doubt you would have to in an 04.

oh boy yet once again another incredibly subjective question

well lets see here do you have wheels that are close to the fender? if yes then set to stiffest if no then something less than full stiff

and you don't have to drill holes for the extensions there are plenty already there in the wheel well

Just take off the plastic clips for the baby seats and remove the metal anchors inside. It would be easiest for one person to hold some insulation out of the way while u snake it through. I took off the ***** on the top of the extenders while I did it. Sorry if that didn't make much sense.

I can really tell you what to set them at i have mine extremely stiff (i think only a couple off of full firm but i cant remember the exact number), but i will say i see you live in BC with winter coming when the coil overs get cold they get very very very stiff i have to drop mine down quite a bit when the weather gets very cold.
