Hi, I was driving and all of a sudden I had the VDC, Slip, and Brake lights come up while I was driving in light snow. That was pretty scary but the car felt fine so I ignored it. I searched and so far I know its probably the brake pads since I had to get my rear replaced soon and a brake fluid change.

The Infiniti dealer is really far away from me and they overcharge like crazy so i was wondering how Nissan was with servicing Infiniti cars. I need new pads but I feel like their pads would be inferior for my G35 so should I buy pads from like Advance Auto Parts (since they always have sales) and bring it there for them to swap it or just use their pads.

Also, does Nissan and Infiniti use different fluids? Like their brake and power steering fluids? I am coming from an Acura so I am still learning about Infiniti's. Thanks guys

Brake*

Check your brake fluid level.

Power steering fluid is just Dexron III fluid check this thread

Yeah, I can't believe I mixed up break and brake... But anyways, I was just wondering. Maybe Nissan doesn't carry pads for the G. I know that pads are very universal but you never know. It's like how Nissan wouldn't have a G35 fender in stock, but an Infiniti dealer should.

And my clutch pedal started sticking like right before it comes all the way up. I read a few forums but it seems that many people had different fixes for it so I guess I'll just bring it to the dealer.

Why not upgrade your brake system with better pads than OE and the cost will be considerably less. Go to our MARKETPLACE under vendor brakes and order either HAWK HP or Project Mu pads and have a independent brake/alignment shop install them for you. There's no reason to have a dealership do this kinda work and a brake shop can replace your fluid too since that's their job....you'll be glad you did!

^ Things you need to keep in mind is that OE Brakes take cold climate into consideration.

AM do not, so please read into the brake pads you are going to buy if you live in a cold climate, or you might not have brakes for the first few stops.

Yeah I've started having problems after I went to college and it is a lot colder here. It is suppose to be like -13 tonight. YEAH NEGATIVE!! I'll just go to Nissan and get OE pads. I need to get this fixed asap. Its not fun driving in light snow with the SLIP, VSA OFF, and BRAKE lights on. It is pretty scary.

I actually just went to a shop around my place. $110 for rear pads including labor. It is crazy what dealers charge just to change brake pads. I got quoted $289 + tax and that is the discounted price.

If it hot where you are now, and/or the clutch sticks in traffic, then it's because your clutch fluid is over heating. Get a DOT4 rated clutch fluid, (which is just regular brake fluid) and it will go away.

Its is -13 degrees where I am now and no traffic at all. I'm going to get my tranny and differential fluid changed tomorrow and see what happens.
