I have been hearing a strange noise that seems to be coming from the left front whenever the wheel is turned hard to the right, especially while backing up and making fast turns... any thoughts, is it possibly a bad shock? something else maybe?
If it is a bad shock, does anyone have any experience with rebuilding Tein coilovers... Do they have to be sent back to Tein or can other shops rebuild them? If you have sent them to Tein - what was the turnaround time?
I checked their website for servicing, and it is somewhat confusing. I plan to call and talk to them in more detail but was curious if anyone had sent theirs somewhere else or to Tein themselves and what their experience was
so annoyed right now...

They will have to be sent back to Tein to get a rebuild..
How many miles are on the shocks and how old are they? They say around 30-60K depending on driving conditions and habbits..

Matt,
If you would like to overhaul the Tein dampers please send it to the
address
listed below. When you send in the damper please do not send the upper
pillow ball mounts, springs, helper spring, dust boots, bump stops, bolts,
and spring seats to save you money on shipping. Also, when you send in the
damper please enclose a letter on what kind of service you are requesting
and your contact information. It will cost about $100.00per shock and if
you need new piston shafts $60.00per piston. If you have anymore questions
please feel free to call us. Thank
you for choosing Tein High Performance Suspension.
Best regards,

Matt,
Yes, you can bring in the Dampers to be overhauled. The turn around
time is about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks. You would not need to get them all
repaired.

just an FYI and closure to anyone who finds this later - for anyone with a similar problem... Mine was solved when i swapped out my clutch - the noise was related to the pressure plate...

yep - it seems most prevalent in hard cornering - not sure... its annoying, but i am going to give the clutch time to break in before doing anything
