A couple of Brake(s) Questions
A couple of Brake(s) Questions
FYI I am pretty new to this...
Has anyone used Caliper paint? I was thinking about doing that instead of throwing down the 1k per wheel to upgrade my brakes to something that looks good. Can anyone let me know how it worked for them?
Next question... Does anyone have any recommendations some some reasonably priced - still responsive - rotors and pads for my '06 coupe.
thanks!

imo, why would you want to draw attention to your small oem rotors by painting them. If you want to upgrade your brakes, get a bbk. If not, maybe get some drilled or slotted rotors, otherwise just leave them alone.
If you want an OEM system to look good, here is my advice:
* Only use silver-y colors on the caliper. It makes it appear bigger.
* Paint rotor hats black.
* Please tape well, or remove the caliper from the torque member and spray both the caliper and the torque member the same color.
* Use blanks. No slotting/drilling. Honestly, you are removing thermal mass and frictional area... and doing yourself a disservice on an OEM system. It also opens yourself up to the world of stress concentration at the machined point(s).
* Bleed your brakes. It just makes them feel better. Nothing to do with appearance, but you will feel like you did a brake upgrade.
