Revised Z Springs

I'm buying some of my friends revised Z springs and I just wanted to make sure I had my facts straight before the purchase.

-I can expect a 0.5" drop.
-They shouldn't ruin my shocks due to the minimal drop.
-Ride quality should be about the same as stock.
-It shouldn't mess with my alignment, camber, etc.

For anyone that will just tell me it's not worth it, get coilovers, tein springs, etc. I like the slammed look but not the practicality of it since this is my daily driver so Z springs seem like a good alternative.

Also, I have an 05 coupe if it makes a difference.

Thanks for any input.

They will work exactly like you mention. It will change the alignment a bit, but when you get it aligned it should still be in spec. Depending on the miles you have on your dampeners, you may want to change those at some point, but that has nothing to do with swapping to these springs (which are the same rate as your stock ones).

Just got my Eibach Pro-kit sedan springs from UPS a few minutes ago The revised 350Z springs were too stiff for my sedan on the crappy local roads.

Dang I was hoping to not have to get an alignment. My G has about 78k so I should probably look into getting the dampeners and shocks replaced soon.

Post some pics up once they're installed!

Finished installing the Eibach pro-kit springs today. Would have been much easier, except that the spring compressors don't fit in the space very well. The gap seems to be identical to the gap with the revised Z springs.

With 78k miles, you would probably notice a nice difference with new dampeners (rear shocks, front struts). Even if you don't get new front struts, they still have to be removed to put on the new springs, so it saves labor to do both at the same time. Even if you don't change anything, there is a good chance you could use an alignment. It might not be a "fun" purchase, but that $60-110 investment could save you a lot on tires.

As mentioned prior, I would replace your shocks/struts while you are replacing the springs. Anytime you do suspension work such as springs, camber components, etc you are going to need an alignment. It may not be off very far, but it will save you in tires down the road.

I picked up the springs this weekend from a buddy of mine for $40. I think I'll wait to install them when I get new shocks/struts and new tires. I'll be needing new tires within the next couple months so I should have them installed by December or so. Thank you all for the info.

Any recommendation on shocks/struts?

Can't go wrong with Tokico HP or D-spec.

I'd recommend installing the new parts, letting the springs settle three or so weeks, then getting new tires, and then soon after get the alignment. That way the alignment doesn't change when the springs settle or you change tires, and you aren't wearing out the new tires by driving on them while out of alignment.

Thanks for the info Brandon. That's probably the route I'll go. The springs will most likely settle a little bit since they only have less than 5k miles on them.

N1Asian: I've heard mixed opinions about the drop being a consistent 0.5" all the way around. Some say only the front will drop but most say the front and rear will drop. We'll see.
