Help me G-driver, you are my only hope. BC coil adjustment
My car sits so low I have really bad -3 camber in the front. I want to raise it up so I don't destroy the bottom my my motor and exhausts b/c it's always slamming into ****. I have done the search and still confused. I followed the adjustment video on you tube too.
I can't do what they do here b/c when I turn to turn the top spring perch??? the **** won't move at all. I even took the wrench and tried to hammer it to turn. it's locked. So I followed the advice on this forum and undid the lower nut and unbolted the coils from the mount. I can now turn the whole coilover but it just spins. the whole unit just turns and there is no height adjustment. I must be a douchbag. what the hell am I doing wrong. any advice is appreciated. I am dying to get my wheels on but I want to raise it up an inch in the front. this is how the car sits now. It has settled even more than in the picture.

pics of coils with it seperated from the car. I tried to just turn the bottom of the coil but all it did was just spin.

thanks for your help. I am about to take the whole thing back out and reinstall it and adjust it outside. I doubt that would help.

i spun the cup at the bottom, and that helped me, i did not ever think to do it the way the video did it, as my spring perch lock ring is super tight.
the reason its just spinning is because the bottom of the shock isn't anchored to anything,
hopefully that helps, i had to do my coilovers 3 times because i kept adjusting it improperly

That's the thing. The whole unit just spins. Spring. Spring locks when I turn the bottom cup. It doesn't change the setting height bc it is just spinning. I tried to hold the top ring and turn the cup and it wont turn. I can't turn like in the vid bc it seemed like the top ring is welded on. I m lost.

Leave it mounted on the car, place a wrench on it so the handle is to the right of the shock, then take a rubber mallot and hit it to break it loose. I've had to do that before, just make sure you are unscrewing it not tightening it.

It seems like the bottom cup is bound to the sleeve and wont break loose. So when I turn the bottom cup stupid thing just spins

Put it back together, then you need to brake loose the bottom lock collar. Once you brake the locking collar, clean the threads. Then you can use the second collar from the top to get leverage to adjust it up.
Make sure you spray some wd-40 when you do get it free. Those threads need to be cleaned almost as often you clean your car. (If you want them to remain adjustable)
I had a seized collar once and I used 1 spanner to hold the top and 1 with a breaker bar (jack handle) to free it.
