Search the forums. There have been good and bad reviews. There are a lot of good reviews on them though. I just installed a set of R1 rotors and Hawk HPS pads and have been happy.

If your worried about rust, get the Premium rotors instead of the Elines.

Use the premium rotors that have a black coating. See where your pads make contact, and primer the rest of the areas which are uncoated and do not have pad contact. I mask off the entire hat and use a template to avoid primering as much of the braking surface as possible.

you will have to do as suggested above for all aftermarket rotors...even the ones with painted rotor hat. for some reason the aftermarket has failed to recognize the proper swept area of the rotor and left too much exposed...not painted.

had Stoptech's and they developed a nice 1/2 inch rust ring around the unswept area on the face of the rotor. was so pissed off about it, I went back to OEM. looked like crap with the rust behind some nice open 5 spoke Ro_Ja rims.

it is a real joke that the aftermarket rotor manufacturers...mainly Centric, fail to get this right. seems like an easy enough process, yet they leave it for use to have to paint with high temp paint to keep rotors looking good.

hope you are you listening Centric!!!

My rotors are still good thus far. I have about 8k on my new rotors with a black zinc coating from brakeperformance. They came completely black even on the pad surface and once I drove it down the block, the coating on the friction surface wore off and left it with a nice polished surface only where the pad touches.

On the other hand, my stock rotors were rusted to hell!

R1 is good. I've heard that you can request them to spray the rotor with something to help prevent rusting even more.

That's a picture of my newly installed Brembo swap over done by bythabay. Thanks Eugene for the excellent work you have done for the installation. He took very good care of my car and is very meticulous about choosing parts that are reliable, top quality, and nice appearance.

Here are some other pics of my brakes with painted rotor hats and the outer rotor edge.

no problem - it was all fun except for the part where I had to wait a week for the replacement rotor
