If you have Drilled/Slotted/Dimpled rotors, I want to hear from you!
I am considering upgrading my OEM Rotors. My rotors are fine and have about 87k miles on them.
I am leaning towards Drilled + Slotted rotors because of the way they look (Yes I have searched and see that they crack more but its always the same 2 people saying they crack often). I am not sure if they're experience is common or not.
It is for looks only, the car is not track driven and will not be any time soon. Very important: needs to be durable and last just as long as my OEM ones have lasted me.
Also, I have generic replacement pads right now. Will those work with these rotors? I am not sure if the pads have to be made for drilled/slotted.
One last thing - I have no idea where to get dimpled rotors! They seem like the best bet.

Ive never had my rotors resurfaced anyways...when you think about it, the brake pad is going to conform to the rotor and get good contact after you break them in and wear them down a bit....Even if the rotor is completely jagged, the pad will match it after a bit.

How do these look? Black zinc, say they come with lifetime warranty.

For longevity, I don't think slotted or the like will be as good as old fashioned blanks (OEM). When you cut slots or drill holes in a piece of metal, you're going to lose some of its strength. With that said, it doesn't sound like you're beat up your car (race, track, rally, etc), so I think, if you take care of them, they'll last just as long as your OEMs. The ultimate question is, will you be driving your car for another 87k? And if you're changing out your rotors, might as well change your pads. The generics will work, but it won't be much of an "upgrade" ya know?

2cents worth
slotted or dimpled rotors let the superheated gases disipate between the pad and rotor surfaces, and clean the surfaces giving more efficient, cooler braking. On a road car they will last a bit longer than OEM type. Although there is less contact area there is more braking.
Drilled rotors have the same effect and are very efficient, you just need to change them regularly as per racecars.
