Creaking sound when i come to a complete stop

I just installed the 14" akebono BBK and my first problem was that the brakes felt super soft. After bleeding them again and again the proper way it finally felt normal. After 5-10 minutes of driving with them on i noticed a creaking sound when i would come to a complete stop or even when i took my foot off the brake pedal. Any idea what could cause this? The kit i bought was brand new with SS brake lines and stoptech drilled and slotted rotors. I had heard this sound before i upgraded to this kit whenever the brakes would get wet. Now i hear it on this new set when the brakes are dry. Any help is appreciated

It may be just because the pads need to warm up. What pads are you using?

Post a video with your noise. My new track brakes squeak like a chew toy when they are cold.

I'm having the same problem with my Akebono BBK I just installed. When I drive I hear a rhythmic knocking/ scraping sound, and when I come to a complete stop there is a thumping noise. The pedal is not really soft but there is no real difference from when I had my OEM brakes.

I'm not sure about the creaking problem your having but I do have the posi quiet pads and after about 5000 mi I have a ton of squealing while applying the brakes and it's pretty annoying .... I ordered some stop tech pads and will be installing them this weekend . I'll keep yall updated on the wear of the old pads and the new ones . IMO I think its the pads that are causing the sound that your hearing .

Yeah the more I've drove around today the less noise it makes. I think it was the pad rubbing against the rotor.

Probably the larger surface area of metal from bigger rotors and aftermarket pads... But maybe they just need to be "broken in"... try slamming on the brakes at high speeds a few times ... I always do that when something feels weird

Yeah after about 100 miles of driving all noises ceased. I guess they just needed proper bedding in. Thanks for the advice!

did you break them in the proper way? some pads come with directions on how to do it.... 5-10 moderate brakes from 45mph to almost a stop(not a complete stop, will imprint the rotor cuz of heat during break in)..... then 5-10 hard brakes from 60mph to almost a complete stop... it gets the 2 different metal compositions to imbed properly into eachother. if you do it right, they should be glowing red when done, sometimes they will even smoke, depends on the brand(pad material)

I bought my calipers used and the OEM pads had a lot of life to go, so I thought that I would use them up before selling a kidney to buy new ones. I did not bed them in properly right away cause I was scared to go fast with all the noises the brakes were making. After I noticed the noises fading I followed someone's bedding in instructions on this forum tho. Thanks!
