nice new clunking sound from drivers side
Well, due to the horrific conditions lately, all of the roads around me are completely trashed, I have seen more potholes just on my 6 mile drive to work, than I have ever seen in my whole life.
anyways, I hit a few without seeing them and now my drivers side front is clunking a little bit and i noticed that it is sitting slightly lower than my passenger side front. I hear the clunk a little more when the wheel is turned and i hit a bump
based off my general description, does this sound like a strut or something else suspension related????
I plan to buy new struts and springs for the summer time anyways but I'm hoping that its not anything else in the suspension

Ahh, I might as well replace the bushings then, they looked pretty new when I did my brakes on the summer but who knows.
I want to do all new kybstruts with eibach pro kit, will they hold nice and not crap out on me lol

so I had belle tire look at it while i was at work to see what they could come up with, they said my rear sway bar links need to be changed but they couldn't identify why the car is leaning or why there is a knocking sound in the front.
so, im kinda lost.
can you tighten sway bark end links?? or do you just have to replace them?

End link needs to be replaced. Common on a G. They are crap from the factory.
Knocking sound could be any number of things: busted compression rod bushing, busted compression rod ball joint, steering knuckle ball joint, upper control arm ball joint, tie rod end ball joint, upper control arm bushing, lower control arm bushing, strut, strut mount, loose subframe, loose castle nut on any of those ball joints previously mentioned, missing rubber mount on spring, sway bar bushings, sway bar end links...shrimp soup, shrimp salad, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich..
Good luck. Haha
Jk, take it to another shop, they should be able to check for all that. Except the shrimp.

haha right on man! Im glad i didn't just let them fix the end links right there because I started to research and found that the end links aren't as expensive as I thought, they wanted 64$ for each end link.
can you point me in the direction of good end links. I just drive the car on the street, no track use and would like better handling but it doesn't have to be perfect
thanks

Well, you can just get stock replacements from AutoZone (duralast) or something for $40. They're probably better than the stock ones. I believe Infiniti revised them in 05 due to their crappiness, so those should fit (not 100% sure, but I can't see why they wouldn't). Best of the best would be whiteline, but theyre like $130 for the set on eBay. A little steep if you're just looking for stock replacements.

No one can figure this out
So, after hitting many pot holes are driving around on these Michigan roads I started to develope a clunking sound in my driver side front "area". I have taken the car to belle tire to just get it checked out and it was in there twice... No one there could find an issue, they took time on it and drive it, they put it up in the air and everything, they just keep telling me everything is solid and has been maintained through it's life.... I cannot figure this out
This noise sounds like this: it is a clunking that sounds like it is clacking twice in rapid succession, like I but a bump and it goes "bump, bump". If I can describe it better, I truly thought it was a strut in the front it really sounds like it's something in the strut tower, but then again when I hear the extant sound, I can feel it right under my feet, and sometimes I hit a bump and I don't hear the sound!!!
I feel like I'm driving a jalopy !

See I feel like it should be good because these guys looked all over the car and couldn't come up with anything... However actually... I do remember them saying they didn't remove the splash Sheild underneath because the screws are all rusted out and they said they probably wouldn't go back in or something
