Brake pad reccomendation

Yeah, I'm sure you seen this before, brake pad question. I am new to the site and probably fairly crummy at searching so far, I did try. I will introduce myself on the new members forum once I look at how to post pics so I can put up a pic of my car. It is a 2004 G35 sedan, dark blue. It is actually my wife's car, I plan to buy a coupe this spring, like this car a lot. But, I am tired of cleaning the wheels, factory 6 spokes. Brake dust accumulates VERY fast on the front wheels. Last brake job was done at the Infiniti dealer. Any suggestions for good performing, low brake dust pads for this car? I have Hawk HPS on my '86 Mustang GT and am considering these. I am new to these cars, any feedback greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Driver Ragnar! Dark blue sedan...must be the same color as SLICK, twilight blue. If you like the HAWK HPS pads on you Mustang I'd go with those! That's what I've been running for 40K miles and wouldn't use anything else. When you installed them on your Mustang did you do the "Bed in process?" That alone improves stopping 30%! Search "Hawk Bed in!" Again, welcome and enjoy the ride!

"bed in" I ran the car up to 80 mph and did some quick stops a few times. Does that sound like it? My wife probably won't do that, I'll have to take care of that after installing pads. It's a dark blue. I will post some pics. Paint seems to be very good after cleaning, and 10 years old. I was suprised to see some posts complaining about the factory paint job.

Bed in process is 30 mph to 0 three times but never come to a complete stop. Then 45 to 0 followed by 65 to 0 rolling to a stop. Having done this I just put her in the garage for a few hours letting her cool down. Members complain about Nissan paint because they leave their cars out in the weather summer and winter and don't know squat about taking care of them...enough said!

It does chip the front end up pretty bad in daily driving. I knows Gary's is a show car and yours is mileage dependent.

Initial bite on Hawk HPS suck. Years ago I switched to Project U B-Force pads. Better initial bite, less dust. I've even used them on canyon's and racetracks.

+1 Hate Hawk HPS in a climate where it rains and/or the temps go below 45. Horrendous intitial bite. I also really like the Project Mu's. Great pad.

It's Project Mu (not U) and that's the name of the company, but there are different pad models. See the chart on this page:
http://www.project-mu.co.jp/e/product/b-force.html

I've been using the Project Mu NS (now called NS400) pads for years now (http://www.project-mu.co.jp/en/products/pad_ns400.html) as a great pad for the street. Terrific initial bite even in very low temps, great stopping power and dusting isn't too bad.

I haven't yet tried the Project Mu B-Force pads, but I understand they are also great for the street and will try them next.
