Armstrong vs SPL Compression Rod Bushings

I am replacing the compression rod bushings and thought I was convinced I was going to get the SPL bearing style bushings to replace my crappy Whiteline bushings. But then I stumbled across the Armstrong bushings and have read pretty good reviews about them so far.

My car is lowered and I want these to last. I prefer no maintenance to prevent them from making noise. I can tolerate some clunking from SPL as long as it's obvious and I'll know that's what the noise is. Also, I've heard SPL fixed a lot of those issues with their newer model bearings.

For those of you that have one or the other, which would you recommend for a lowered car? What's your experience with each?

Review of the Armstrong:

Thanks!

Armstrong get win

Had whitelines in for 1.5 yr they started to tear up , I'm lowered on coils "aka" ( stance true coils) have all whiteline bushings installed in front of car there good ,went to do oil change saw there tore did some research and found Armstrongs there 1 piece bushings , not like whitelines 2 piece. Have Armstrongs on now for like 8-9 months very solid no noise and seem more solid then whitelines, only thing when installing the Armstrongs to grease them up good when install. Then once your done set them and forget it's been much tighter feel than whitelines and my cars pretty low.

I like whiteline as I have them all in the front except I don't like them for the compression rod bushings. This is the 2nd time I'm replacing them. First ones were defective and didn't have the washers so whiteline sent me new ones free of charge. This time they just tore.

On lowered cars the whiteline bushings for the compression rod just don't cut it.

No issues with my Whitelines...almost 2 years later. Might depend on the ride and how you drive it?

Armstrong will tear. The one piece design offers no flex/movement. Try energy if whiteline tore. I believe the energy are slightly harder. I really wouldn't go SPL tho. Those are gonna be noisy as hell.

I had armstrong on my coupe. They did not tare but were quite noisy. I since then removed them and went back with OEM and now I want to go with poly again cuz I don't like the feel of OEM.

That's interesting that there are so many reports on whiteline bushings tearing. I was going to go with whiteline.

Interesting. Then, I might argue that it requires lowered on coilovers (true or oem) to have the Whiteline compression rod bushings tear. The lowering along with the stiffer ride that comes with coilovers is likely too much for the Whiteline CR bushing design. I am on OEM style coilovers and have experienced this myself. TbagzG35 reports the same on true style coilovers.

Just my two cents.

While I don't have any personal feedback, I read many reviews and came to the conclusion that the SuperPro bushings look to be of great quality and design. I have purchased mine and will be installing them in the spring. Keep an eye out on the Bay, they go on sale now and then.

Part numbers can be found here:
