Lower shock mount bushing replacement issue
Lower shock mount bushing replacement issue
Hey guys,
So today I replaced my lower control arm bushings with an energy suspension set. I noticed that on my oem sport struts (as well as the subframe where the lower control arm bolts up) there are small lumps/bulges on the face of the strut where the bushings sit. These caused an issue for me when trying to put in the new bushings as they caused an interference. I ended up grinding down these bumps and partly grinding down the outer part of the bushing to make it fit. I haven’t heard of anyone else having this issue when installing new bushings on any of the DIY threads. I’m curious as to why no one has mentioned it, maybe I screwed up somewhere? Once grinded down though, everything fit perfectly.

Thanks guys ^^ Yup I sanded down the nubs and everything fit perfectly, aside from having to shorten the ES lower shock mount bushing so that it fit properly between the strut.
