Now, who ever was racing on San Gabriel blvd here in L.A. tonight at around 7:00 p.m. please tell me you were pretending to lose to a 2000 prelude. I saw it from about 60 yards away, I was standing with a friend when all of a sudden I heard tire screeching, the G was about 1 car length ahead, then when they hit 2nd gear the prelude was pulling like crazy and pretty much over took the G-coupe. Please say it ain't so. Unless that preludes got a jackson supercharger, but even then it should not be able to over take the G in 2nd gear.

 

perhaps the G missed 2nd gear?

Isn't San Gabriel very crowded at 7 pm? You're basically getting into the Chinese dinner time crowd.

Although it wasn't me, I'll sometimes make the other guy think that I'm going to race just to get him away from me. Street racing is just too risky. You get pulled over, lose your car, or worse, you kill someone's parents. I've had a bunch of guys (usually in Mustangs) try for several times to get me to race. I think it's because of the red brembos because I'll see them sticking their heads out the window looking at them. Even on the freeway!

 

Well truth hurts..because it is possible..last october i went to englishtown and there was this 2000 blue prelude staging against a r33 gt-r ..it didnt look like much, stock outside except a drop and an exhaust until they launched!! the skyline got spanked 12.5 to 12.9 the prelude was turbo a sleeper at that.. imho any car can be maybe quick with the right person building and tuning it...

 

holy $hit. how can you race on San Gabriel Blvd at 7! thats insane. it must not have been a race cause theres all that traffic all the time.

but yea those preludes are fast. i had the 99 prelude and that engine was insane. you could mod it like crazy and it would hold up.

Man, I certainly hope that he missed shift 2nd gear. They raced 1 light of south of Huntington drive, which at that time they have a pretty long stretch of road to get up to some serious speed.

Not really sure, but probably have headers and exhaust.
