Wavespec Brembo rotors

I got my Wavespec Sport line rotors delivered today.
My initial impressions are good so far. They look well machined and accurately cast. Shipping to Canada was blazing fast, especially considering the COVID issues.

Just thought I would let everyone know since I couldn’t find this info anywhere, and Wavespec doesn’t list it. The Weights are as follows.
Front brembo rotor - 18.2 lbs.
Rear Brembo rotor - 16 lbs

That is lighter then the factory Brembo rotors by a descent amount. I think most 2 piece rotors are around 16 lbs for the front and around 14 for the rears. So these Wavespec rotors are almost as light but cost substantially less then most 2 piece rotors. A good balance of cost/benifit for a street car that only sees occasional track work.
Now I know this design is somewhat controversial, but I do believe that there are some benifits to it. Audi is employing a similar set of rotors on the RS5. So there must be something to be improved by it. Some people don’t like the look of the wave profile, but I don’t mind it.
I’ll do a more thorough update after the install, then a follow up after I’ve used them for a while.

I got everything installed and bled. Man I had a B!+<# of a time getting all the air out. I finally read somewhere that bleeding with the engine running helps, seemed to do the trick.
I paired them with Powerstop Z26 carbon pads.
I have bedded the pads, and only done a couple short drives.
My initial Impressions are good. There is really good initial bite. Hard braking is strong and predictable. Pedal feel is solid and communicative. The only negative I can say is that they seem a bit loud, if that makes sense. That may be the pads more then the rotors. It’s not a vibration but more like I can hear the pads biting into the rotors. Maybe it will fade as things break in. It’s not that noticeable now, and doesn’t really bother me.
I’ll post again after I have lived with them for a while.

I've noticed on all the cars that I've installed slotted rotors on that the first 100 miles the brakes are noisy. I think there is a little flashing on the edge of the slots on the rotor that just need to be worn in a little
Maybe the wavy edge allows for better air to flow? Are the veins in the rotor directional or straight?
How do you like those Bilstein struts and shocks?

The vanes on the rotors are non directional.

The 350 Nismo springs an Bilstein dampers are perfect for what I was looking for. A small drop in height without needing to worry about the crappy roads up here in Canada, a bit more stiffness without being too harsh. One I add some adjustable sway bars I will have what I consider a perfect all around sports car suspension. Good functional stance, competent and fun level of grip, with a usable level of compliance and functionality.
