Tell me about the way you drive that make this stuff worthwhile. Tell me why the OEM stuff is inadeqate, for the way YOU DRIVE. "It looks cool" is not a valid reply.

Cause I also have a modded Cooper-S which will out corner a G without
even trying. I needed to get the sus tuned to my liking without sacrificing
comfort... as a result, wider/sticker tires (S03's) were needed as part of
the package when I went with thicker swaybars and stiffer springs/dampers.

The more apropos question is why is the OEM stuff inadequate for the way YOU DRIVE? Are you consistently overdriving your brakes to where you're fading your pads and/or boiling your fluid? If so, then consider some higher temp pads and beefier rotors, and flush the brake system with some higher boiling point brake fluid. Check out www.performancenissan.com, www.stoptech.com, etc. to find this stuff. If not, then the OEM stuff is plenty good.

Tires will have to be inevitably replaced so you might as well go with something better/lighter.

If your investing all your money and time to making your car faster, it's probably smart to start thinking about brakes too...rumor has it though that it's cheaper to upgrade to aftermarket brakes pads and rotors than replace with new ones at the Infiniti dealership esp. with the Brembos. I believe someone told me the average brake life on our G is about 30K miles, depending on the driver.

factory brembo's are fine for me on the street, thus have not chosen to
upgrade them.

For the same reason my Neighbor put a brama bull sticker on the door of his truck, because it looks cool.

Sounds like you don't push your car much, so I wouldn't worry about upgrading your tires or brakes.

Take your car to auto-x sometime and maybe you'll say to yourself "damn, wish I have a little more traction on that turn!" take your car to the track and you'll def want to upgrade your brakes (and fluid of course)

I haven't, but I will upgrade to red brembo's. I miss the 04 ones and I dont even drive on the track, yet. I drive hard on the streets, and 04 brembos felt better than the 05 ones so even if I dont push it to the limit, its always good to feel how good the brembos are.

For me, there was definately the looks part of it, but I'm also getting ready to be able to get my car out on a track. My neighbor is big into track racing [and he is an instructor as well for his racing club], so I think he is luring me over! lol...

well i had 17" wheels on 215's stock. those would get squirly on the slightest turn under throttle. so i went with a set of the rays engineering 350z wheels. they are 18x8f and 18x8.5r. im using s techs for suspension. not much inmprovment in handling but it looks a good amount better.

Brakepads and tires are the only things I can modify to stay in stock class.

2pt. to be made:

1. I drive normally (whatever that may be) everyone knows the 5AT brakes on the 04 aren't worth a damn.

2. Because the standard brakes look so miniscule behind 20's.

I am turning my car into a show car and standard 04' AT brakes suck in the looks department. Upgrade to Wilwood's!

Because Brembo brakes work~

Now I need to look into SS brake lines and some new brake pads that won't turn my rims black after 2 mountain runs.
