Installed Hawk HPS Brake Pads

I replaced my stock Brembo pads at 18K miles with Hawks. I too didn't have my rotors re surfaced and they sqeeled like crazy. At 25K I replaced my rotors with Brmbo slotted and it's hardly squeeled at all since and stops great. Moral of the story...replace your rotors or have them resurfaced when you do the pads for the best performance and least amount of noise. JMHO

^i too have the brembos. but i had the crossdrilled brembos at the same time w/ my hawks so we may have diff setups.
my short review: the hawks are not grabby like the oem pads were, no more unnecessary neck snapping stops, but when u need to step on it, it'll stop on a dime. and modulation is much easier. no squeaks so far and so little brake dust compared to oems.

But it's not just me regarding the HPS pads in cold wet weather. Others in my area reported the same thing with the recent rain we had. BTW, I have the brembos so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with our different experiences with these pads.

I just put my Hawk HPS pads in this W/E. No problems with braking so far when cold (it was about 27 F this morning). Not sure about wet conditions.
BTW, for the non-Brembo pads, is it normal for only one of each pair to have the 'Pad Wear Sensor'? Nothing to fit the inner spring in on the Pad Retainer for the front brakes?

Thanks.
It's been below freezing in the mornings since this W/E. Brakes are fine in the cold so far. Seem to grip a bit better than stock at moderate and high braking pressures. Absolutely no squealing and no noticeable dust since the W/E.
I normally 'bed' the brakes with moderate stops at highway speeds (something I've done for >20 years). This time I used Hawk's recommended procedure, and it seems to do a better job. After my last hard stop for the cool-down, my brakes were smoking, and the anti-squeal goop was bubbling and boiling out of the shim holes! Also the smell of burning brake pads was apparent.
This has now become my new 'bedding procedure', and I don't have to get out on the highway to safely do it!
