My review, D-spec +05 350z springs

Damn this is the best setup. I 1st had the stock sport suspension (03), then I went to a full 03 Z suspension, was not happy with that and put it back to stock. Now I have D-spec shocks and 05 Z springs. This setup is amazing. The drop is so even, before with my 03 Z suspension the rear was much lower then the front which I hated. The ride quality is great so far however I did not get to test out the handling because there was too much traffic on the road on my drive home. Once I drive more I will tell you how it handles but the drop front/rear is perfect and it rides smooth. Pictures tomorrow.

Did you use spacers in the rear to even up the look of the drop? Thanks.

Ok I just drove through the back roads; I am in-love all over again. The shocks range in turns for adjusting, 7.5 turns from full hard gives you full soft. Right now I am 4 turns from full hard. The car handled amazing flat compared to the stock sport suspension/03 z suspension. It was amazing, I went through the back roads faster then I ever have before and I felt so confident, I also felt that was no where near the limit of the car. For 4 turns from full hard the body sway was almost non-existent. I should also note, that along with my new suspension I also got my new tires installed, 245/40 18 all the way around, that might have something to do with the amazing handling this car is finally displaying. I am also happy to say that my car felt so balanced I am not looking forward to getting an alignment tomorrow because I do not want to lose the great balance it displayed tonight. BTW – no spacers in the rear.

the h-tech 350z will give you about 3"/2" more of a drop compared to stock z springs.

Awesome review..can't wait to get mine installed. I was going to go with H-Techs but I think I want to get rid of any wheel gap so I am going with the H&R Sport springs

I have pictures, and I will post my alignment sheet later when I can get it scanned. I have some alignment questions later but here are some pictures. Yes I know I will take ones later that are not in my parking spot.

Front -

Rear -

thanks for the review! I think that drop is perfect. I have a coupe and I don't want to drop it all that much. I'd like to keep the car at stock height or just a tad lower on the stock 18s for now. I like the sleeper look but I want performance handling, know what I mean?

Where did you buy the 05 350z springs?

Ok little update, I adjusted the suspension. Before I was 4 turns from full hard all the way around. Now it is 3.5 turns, and it was so easy to adjust front and rear (thanks to premium sedan rear seats). With it being at 3.5 turns you do feel more bumps in the road but I would say it was not harsh. The handling @ 3.5 turns was very nice (keep in mind my 245/40 18 with 40psi all the way around), the car excels on long sweeping turns so well with little body roll which would be even less with sway bars. I am going to keep the car on 3.5 for now, but for long drives/passengers I would most likely change it to 4 turns from full hard. These shocks are definitely great though with the sedan being that you can adjust them so easily and work great with my 05 350z springs.

I would like to mention that I drove my friends new bmw 325i with 6 speed manual and had the sport package. My cars ride is similar to his, however his steering definitely had a tighter feel and that car felt a little more “point and shoot” then mine. The handling on his car was real nice on low speed tight turns, but on the long high speed sweepers I felt my car would out handle his easily. Also for 215 or w/e the HP is on the new 325i with the 6 speed manual the acceleration was decent. Not close to my sedan with exhaust/intake, but it was livable with.

blackonblackG, I have a 05 Sedan with the premium wheels. I can't tell if this setup has lowered your car compared to what I have now. Has it? if so, by how much? Thanx.
