Motul 600 and Anti-lock brake problems
Anyone have problems with their antilock brakes after switching to Motul 600 brake fluid? I bought a set of Brembos off a 2004 Coupe to put on my 2003.5 Sedan. The installer flushed the brake lines and installed the Motul brake fluid. There have been a couple of times where I have made “panic” stops and the fronts locked up instead of pulsing. I had the dealer examine the antilock system, they said everything seems to be working, but they probably only looked for error codes. The service manager believes the Motul 600 may be too viscous to be use in the G. Motul 600 claims to be compatible with antilock brake systems.

I have used Motul in my Brembo's for more than a year. I haven't noticed any problems and I engage the ABS alot. Track days and weekend runs through the Hills of KY use up brakes. Could you be feeling the ABS more because of the change in viscosity? Did you happen to change pads at the same time? I have had 0 problems ABS with my setup.

When you change calipers you need to change ABS modules [software] to correct for caliper volume changes. Many times a new master cylinder is required ALSO.

From the specs it appears the viscosity is well within the specs for Dot 3 & 4.
Expect changes when you redesign your brake system.

Q45tech thanks for your insight. Can you point me to any information regarding changing the ABS modules? I know a lot of people have performed brake upgrades, but this is the first I’ve heard of an ABS module upgrade/swap. Also, do you know for a fact that the brake master cylinder is different between the 2003.5 Sedan and the 2004 Coupe?
Again, thanks for your help – you too HillBilly.

No experience with this actual Brembo/G35 conversion, just know this is a problem with similar conversions in past.
The engineers spend months finetuning ABS then people change everything by just changing tire brands/sizes or worse pad composition...........caliper pressure vs volume must be a nightmare.
Check part numbers at dealer.
