2005 G35X Brake

Per my local Infiniti dealer, brake are not covered as before. 03-04 36,000 miles.
They told it's not covered anymore. Mine is squeeking like crazy again with only 15000 miles.

Well, that's pretty poor considering us 05 X models got the left over parts from 04. The only model in 05 that got the small brakes.......Shame on Inifiniti if they changed their policy for the same parts. I for one will reflect this in the customer service questionaires...

the 06x has the larger breaks.... something was obviously wroung with the 05x breaks.

My sales consultant is trying to find a way for me to get a pair of 06 breaks

Let me speculate here. Nothing is wrong with the 04 or 05X brakes (notice spelling). Nissan had a plan to upgrades the brakes, just as many other parts are upgraded through different model years. When they entered the 05 production year, they had left over 04 brakes and had to decide which cars to put them on. Their marketing told them that the X models were the most conservative drivers (probably true) and that's where they went. A car company will never just discard parts. Now that the parts are used up, the 06's benefit from the intended upgrade.

Unless Nissan offers a very sweet upgrade deal to the larger brakes (don't count on it) I will be going to an aftermarket big brake kit when my brakes wear out.

Neal, if you're successful in getting new 06 brakes for your 05, please post that here. Cause I've asked my dealership here and they looked at me like I had two heads!!! FYI...the brakes on my 05X are the same ones on my 03 Altima, and that car had no brake problems in 55,000 miles.

my dealer said he would replace my rotors and pads one time on my 05X before 36,000 miles. He recommended I try to wait as long as possible as he would do it only once.

mine were squealing bad a 9k miles... had pads replaced and rotors shaved...

service manager showed me the pads and what the problem (atleast on mine) was... He first said that the 03/4's pads were mad of a soft compound. The 05's got a harder compound created with more metal. In mine, there was a pice of metal in the pad that would not wear down and scraped into the rotor making it squeal like a b!tch. Replaced under warranty at infiniti of massapequa.

pretty much it seems as tho the 03/4's were too soft of a pad and the 05's were too hard of a pad and killing the rotors.

neal, did massapequa give u any problems with the brake issue?

no not at all. As a matter of fact, they didnt even second guess me. My consultant is Kenny. You should talk to him. Atlantic Infiniti would of stared at me "like I had two heads". Dont even bother going to Atlantic. Even through the phone, Massapequa helped me with my car. Once my M's battery died, and I neeed a little help jumping it. Atlantic put me on hold and after 10 minutes I just hung up. Massapequa handed there line to a mechanic right away who immediatly said (after the car started) "if you have a battery problem, you should bring your car over here and we will help you out". I still dont know why Atlantic Infiniti is still in buisness.
