Lifting car for sway install
Lifting car for sway install
Hey y'all...
I'm installing my Stillen Sways this weekend at a friend's house. He has a drive-up hydraulic lift that will lift my car on all 4 wheels. Is it possible to do the installation this way, or do I need to use my jackstands and lift the car on the frame instead of on the wheels? I found an install guide on my350z, and it said to use jackstands--just wondering if it is possible using the other type of lift. Thanks for your help!

a hydraulic lift at his house... whoa.. thats nice.
anyway you could get under the car and to the sways would do fine.... hydraulic lift sounds a lot better than using the jackstands.... the install guide on my350z assumes that most home owners do not have a lift at home =)

simply because I used the same thing your friend had last time. To hard to access it.

Oo
I think it's so much easier to do it using a lift. I did mines on a lift and I can imagine how much more effort it would take to crawl under the car to do the work.

i just used ramp for both front and rear... front was pita because of the lower engine bay cover, but i didn't have to lower anything else like the exhaust piping supports when doing the rear...
to me it was so much easier doing the sway bar upgrade with the sways in a rested position, like when the car is driven onto ramps, than when the wheels are hanging down or suspended in the air....

Thanks for all the replies guys...A friend and I installed my sways on Saturday. The hydraulic lift made it so easy. I didn't even have to unbolt the exhaust hangers to get the rear sway out. It's pretty cool being able to stand under your own car and see all that engineering under there!
I'd definitely recommend a hydraulic lift to anybody needed to put their sways on.
