d spec adjustment

Got my shocks and springs put on. The shop worked late and I didn't get the manual on adjusting the shocks (couldn't find anything on the net).
The mechanic said he adjusted them all one level over the middle adjustment. I've noticed the front is way stiffer than the back and I'd like to back it off and see how it feels.
Do I have to loosen the double bolts on the threaded rod before adjusting? I assume counter-clockwise is softer, right? Does it click or do you have to remember how many turns?
Any help?

You have to remove the cap on the piston shaft. then drop your adjustment tool (bascially an allen key with ****) and turn it ccw for soft. there is no
click. you need to turn it based on the tool's reference line on the top.

Thanks Kenchan, they put it in my glove box.

My front shocks were on max firmness, set it halfway and it rides better. Guess there's no real way to get to the back shocks without unbolting.

^ right, you need to jack up the car, remove the wheel, remove 2 bolts
at the top mounts of the shock, pull down, remove the cap on the shaft
like you did on the front, and adjust the stiffness.

btw, tokico apprently started selling extenders for the rear adjustment...
you can drill a hole into the trunk area and turn the dial from inside the
car. but, once you set the dampness you won't be changing it that
often so unless you're tracking the car on weekends, just play with
the adjustment without the extender. i had to adjust it maybe 4 times
to get it just right.

a fellow member, myst, who has d-specs with z-springs mentioned to me that if i had the reclining rear seats it would be an easy adjustment for the rears...

i took a ride in his car to hear the hks muffler prior to buying it and the d-specs seem to make the car well planted in turns and during acceleration...
