Nothing too special. Make sure you have a breaker bar and maybe even a pipe to go over your breaker bar. The bolts holding the OE caliper to the spindle are torqued at around 110 lbs/ft. You'll want a good torque wrench for sure and also some flare nut wrenches for the brake lines and caliper fittings. You'll also need a certain size allen wrench to undo and redo the caliper bridge bolt.

Darren,
Awesome setup. I'm surprised to see that little of a clearance on your 5Zigens. I saw pictures of 6-pot Wilwood fronts on stock sedan wheels. 6-pot must be narrower than 4-pot.
In regards to brake bias, I wonder if EBD which our cars are equipped with can accomodate for bias changes. Any thoughts on that?

Andrew,
Thanks. The 6-pot calipers are actually wider than the 4-pots so maybe you saw 18" stock sedan wheels? Because my wheels are 17". There is no way the stock 17 x 7 +45 sedan wheels would clear these brakes. As for the brake bias and EBD that is a good question that only someone a lot more technical and knowledgable than I could answer. Interesting thing though is that I read this article in Sport Compact Car not too long ago. They had a project Scion Tc they were working on and were doing a brake upgrade. They did all this work to try to maintain the correct bias but at the end of the article they said it didn't matter since the electronic brake management on that vehicle would just override and accomodate for bias changes. Could it be the same for us?

If you're worried about flats then either have a can or two of the fix-a-flat stuff or get a wheel that will fit over the bbk as your spare. That's what I'm planning on doing when I decide to upgrade my rears to the RacingBrake OE Caliper Rear kit. Are you planning on getting a 4 corner kit?

My wheels are 5Zigen FN01R-C. Cost $200 each from Discount Tire Direct. Only weighs 17 lbs per wheel which is lighter than the OEM sedan wheels by about 4 or 5 lbs.
Silver Wheel
Flat Black Wheel
Gloss Black Wheel
Only the 4-pot caliper will fit the wheel in my size. The 6-pot caliper won't. If you order these same wheels I'd suggest you get 17x8 +35 offset which are the ones I've linked above. Those will definitely clear the 6 or 4 pot caliper.
