auction car = void warranty?

Why are they gone? Was the car stolen at some point?
That's odd? Only reason why the VIN would be taken off is 1) Stolen or 2) Accident and replaced with shaddy parts. I would look into the engine bay and find the vehicle's ID badge and make sure all the VIN from the trunk, doors, hood, etc match the one. Next do a carfax on it and see what kind of title does it have. Salvaged...no warranty

I believe its illegal to drive a car with the missing VIN on the dash. My girlfriend is a cop and deals in Grand Larsony Auto especially. If you replace your dashboard (which has a vin up underneath by law) yourself, its a felony. Parts with VIN numbers can only be legally installed or replaced by an authorized dealer...according to her (the expert). Thats what makes me think its probalby illegal to drive a car with missing VIN plates. There are VIN numbers on the bottom of the seatbelts. Do those match the firewall VIN?

besides the door jam and dash, where else could i match the engine vin# to?
Shellnyce....bottom of seatbelts? i check there, only numbers is model#.
Well this sucks if no warranty, but car drives fine. Just have that left speaker issue and rear clicking noise. thanks for the responses!

Dude i would worry about being able to register the car with so many missing VIN tags. Make sure your state will allow you to register the car before you buy.
Most states don't like cars that look like they have been through 'chop shops'
Oh, and I would forget about getting any warranty on a vehicle that does not have a clear title. Infiniti will not honor.

I agree with the others based on common sense. VIN numbers are what identify a car. Without them, the car is basically a hunk of metal and I doubt you could get a clean title. You might be able to sort it all out but I doubt it would be worth it.
