Ok before I get flamed, I did a search for "lease payments" for the 07 sedan and didnt find a helpful thread. Background is that my 06 coupe lease is up in September, and since I am eligible for VPP from work I want to take advantage of it. 07 G35 sedan did not offer VPP pricing when it was first released, so I am expecting same with coupe.

Please list model (G35S, Journey, etc), with MSRP, down payment and monthly payment. Even though I am in metro Detroit area, I think VPP pricing should not have affect on region.

My basic goal is to have payments similar to what i have now:
2006 G35 coupe 6MT
MSRP: $39500
Down: $1200 total, including 1st month's payment
Monthly payment: $457/mo
Mileage: 12,000 mi/yr

Yes I agree, $7k down is ridiculous for a lease. But thank you and keep them coming.

Indeed, it is a lot. I know the norm is $2,000-3,000, but I simply wanted a reasonably low monthly car payment.

And 10k miles annually was my choice, since I primarily drive it on the weekends only. I guarantee you I won't even get close to that by year's end.

So with such expected low-miles, one can argue that I should have financed the car then, right? Well, me and my trusted accountant (my dad ) considered it, and thought leasing was still the better choice.

And yeah, I know I could've put down much less, and put the rest into high-yield CD or MMA... yadda-yadda-yadda! In the end, it's my deal that I'm quite happy with, and which I'm not looking back on.

the reason you shouldnt put money down on a lease is because of GAP insurance... if you total the car early on in the lease, you are out cash you didnt need to be out.

Here's what I paid for my '07 G35X with Premium, Navigation and Technology packages:

24 month lease - 12K/year
$2,050 down (taxes and first payment)
23 more monthly payments of $492.

Plus, they're tinting my windows on Thursday (was supposed to be done before pickup, but it didn't work out that way). They also made the last lease payment on my '06 coupe, which I turned in one month short of my 12 month lease. The car had 3,660 miles on it (I keep checking cars.com, but it hasn't appeared yet.)
