Is this a good initial offer?

I'm using edmunds to get quotes on a G35, my criteria:

2007 Infiniti G35 Sport Automatic
Exterior color doesn't matter, must have stone leather interior
Premium package
Technology package
Navi package w/ XM real time traffic update

One of the offers I got was a car with all this plus a trunk cargo net and painted splash guards:

MSRP: $40165.00
Quoted Price :$38618.00 OTD
This was from Infiniti of Tysons Corner in Northern VA

Another quote I got was for a vehicle with just the options I requested, the price was $37,995 before tax, tags, etc. This was in Alexandria, VA, Passport Infiniti.

I'm awaiting to hear quotes from Infiniti of Chantilly and an Infiniti dealership in Bethesda, MD. The dealership in Chantilly offers this free of charge:
- 2 Years of Scheduled Factory Maintenance, including the 30,000 mile service
- Same Day Service Appointments
- Oil Changes for Life
- Virginia State Inspections
- Infiniti Service "Loaner for Life"
- Shuttle Service to Dulles Airport
- $50 Gift Certificate for Parts and Accessories
- Full Detail at the 1 year Anniversary Date of Purchase

Is that atypical for an Infiniti dealership? Also, are the quotes I've gotten seem reasonable? I'm shooting for around $37,500-$38,000 OTD, I'm not sure if thats reasonable. My logic is that they are trying to move the 2007's off the lot to make way for the 2008 G35's. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi fecurtis.

I am in the market also for an 07 G35 6MT Coupe,

I received a quote of $37500.00 for the Premium, Navi, Aero package, and XM. From the same dealer. I'm hoping to get it for a lower price but I'm need to figure out how low I can reasonably go.

btw have you purchased your G yet?

I'm thinking the same thing just need to see what guys near me are getting like fecurtis. I did get a quote from Passport Infinity in Alexandria $33,260 without navi, I may hop on this one because right now that is the best quote so far but I really want navigation so I figure $35,500 should get me what I want.

What do you guys think?

Infiniti of Chantilly has superior service and perks compared to the other dealers in the area. That's my opinion. Everyone in my family loves IOC.

Just bought my G35S Auto Premium\Nav\Spoiler\Spash Guards\Cargo net for $36,500 from Infiniti of Tyson's Corner. I was talking with the GM who's a buddy of mine and he was telling me that the supply is pretty short right now on G's. I was on there back lot and I'd be surprised if they had more than 10 to choice from and probably only 4 Sports. I'm guessing the short supply might keep the price up a bit.

+1 ..I loved their service as well, I just bought my G from them this past weekend, he!! I even enjoyed the finance lady "Laura". After I got the keys my salesman went over every feature with me as well as setting up my BT phone for me.

Stock was limited their as well which prevented me from getting the color I wanted "IP" but I did get all the options I requested.

IOC does offer excellent service, their sales guys were honest too, but you pay a premium for that extra service.

I ended up buying the car from Jim Coleman Infiniti in Bethesda, MD. As part of the deal, I got free scheduled maintanence for 3 years/75,000 miles. Also, if I get all of my scheduled maintanence done there, I'll have the engine and powertrain covered for the life of the car. They did this to compete with BMW.

I noticed Infiniti of Tysons Corner did not have many G's at all, but the one in Bethesda had quite a few in their garaged storage area.

The problem with VA is that it's somewhat immune to the economic problems in the rest of the country because of the government and government contracting jobs. Markup has been awful for about ten years now. I'm kind of surprised auto prices are still so high though, I follow the economy pretty closely, and auto sales are far from fantastic right now. Mainly because of the housing market, a huge percentage of people were using home equity for their down payments - not now though. Kind of surprised they can still get away with a nearly $40K price tag, very few people have cold hard cash. To a certain extent though, they always pull that crap, "ohhhh they're flying off the lots, better get one while you still can". Said the same thing to me, went to a different dealership and they were practically begging ME to buy one.
