Cool How long after G37 release will we see price drops on early model G35 coupe's ?

I'm new to the site. Loved the G for several years. Now I'm actually ready to purchase one but I'm told that the early G35 models should drop in price considerably when the G37 is released. Is it too early to tell, or is the price just not going to drop ? KBB doesn't seem to show any difference in price.

Anyone have any ideas or knowledge to share on this ?

x2, if you want to buy a G35 coupe, get one now. Many dealers will be wanting to get the '06's off the lots once they can handle a steady supply of G37s, but for now they aren't keeping them in showrooms for very long, especially since so many delivered to dealers are sold as pre-orders.

I'm actually looking for an 03 in Ivory Pearl. But I understand where you guys are coming from. I just didn't want to go out and buy, and happen to find out that the prices had dropped after making my purchase.

I'm comfortable with current prices. I just didn't to want to experience price drops after a purchase again. I've had it happen plenty of times with other products. Thanks again for the input guys/gals.

Why would them? the 03~04's G35 already took bulk of their deprecations, its unlikely they are suddenly going to drop 2k in value next couple of weeks, just cus there is new model on the lot, the demand for them should be same, its not like someone going to cross shop between 20k car and 40k cars.

The 06's will be affected way more than 03~04 G35, you can buy a brand new 07 G35 for 2.5k or more below invoice now, so if you can buy brand new 07 G35 coupe with premium pkg for about 31.5k, why would anyone wants to buy used 06 G35 for similar price? only way for them to sell 06's? is to lower their price big time.

like I said, I am looking for an 03-04 model. And I raised the question on depreciating prices because I'm not familiar with market. I was told the 37 would drop the prices of the older models. So I'm still learning the market. Filanj addressed my issue. So thanks for the input.

Red face The value of older G35 coupes will drop!

I have been tracking the value of my 05 G35 sedan on kbb.com ever since the 07 G35 sedans came out. The drop in value will shock you! Note: this car is an extremely low mileage car. I am over 15,000 miles under my allotment and yet the car is already worth less than the residual with 1 year left on the lease!

here's what i foresee happening -
as soon as the value of older g35 coupes drop below 20k (a sweet spot for many used car buyers, imo), the demand for those coupes will suddenly spike. this spike in demand will push prices back up a bit... the overall effect being a MODEST reduction in g35 values.

G/L with the purchase. A new model most always has some impact on a previous generation albeit not a lot immediately especially on a relatively low number desirable car. Depreciation tends to be pretty linear. Prices drop a little extra when cars enter 6-7 years of age when banks won't finance a used car. On a more expensive car that tends to hurt them a bit more.

When I bought mine in 2004 the G Coupe was predicted to be in the top 10 list for highest future (5 year) resale value. #1 in the luxury coupe category- Kelly Blue Book

Do tell...which dealers are discounting them that much? I need to give them a call.

At a dealership nears you, If you had bother to read few posts in first couple of pages in this section? you would've know that you "could" get a coupe for about 4~600 below invoice in last couple of months, and this month there is $2000 Manufacturer to Dealer marketing support, so 2.5k below invoice isnt all that hard to come by, if anything? it should be even lower now.

To add -- There is also an $1000 rebate offer to customers who currently own or lease an Infiniti vehicle. Offer is good towards the purchase or lease of eligible vehicles, and you dont have to trade the old one in to get that rebate!
