I should have gone lower :-(

Well today I decided to stop at a dealer to take a look at an 04 Coupe, with 39k, desert platnum with tan interior 6spd, One owner and it was a trade in,they were asking 22.8k. I had no intentions of anything except to look. so the salesman is talking to me and such asking if i want to test drive etc.
I told him the price was too high. He said throw out a number and I said 19k...so hes like thats no good and to work with him and the manager is not gonna go for it..hes talking to me to death...and this and that and told i know everything about the car and prices etc and that I work for NADA...so i know the scoop. I guess after an hour the manager comes out and says gimme a price...i guess he over hears us and says give me a price...i say 19k not being serious...he says ok....i am like wow...with tax and tags and fees, it comes out to 20k.....so should I jump on it????

I might go back next week with a check for exactly 19k for everything OTD, and see what they say.
Also I will test drive it.....anything I should look out for while on the test drive?

20K is reasonable for an 04 based on the cars condition.

sounds like a good deal

check the carfax..

is that the color combo\options you really want?

There are tons of 03/04 coupes on the market. you should be able to find one with almost exactly what you want and lower miles for about the same price.

Yeah they showed me the carfax, it just finished its BtoB last month. 1 owner, i originally wanted a black or white, but i like this look on the G, its the Desert Platnum color, with the aero package. Clean and all...i may take it for a test drive when i get back in town, since i am heading out of town tomorrow. I may come to him with a check for 19k OTD....now i need somebody to buy my car...its a 95 Teg with 250k miles....buy it!!!

I would like to keep it, but it would be impractical right now for me to have 2 cars.

I got quoted....and I would be paying 30 dollars more if i got the G, and 50 dollars more if I kept both cars...well I share a townhouse and no garage...just parking spaces....we will see.

Thats what Geico told me...but i think maybe she has the mileage mixed up on how many miles a year average i would drive the car. i told her 9k for the Teg and 6k for the G...but maybe she flipped them.
