Exclamation BMW fan, tempted by G35...

I've been a BMW fan as long as I can remember. I currently drive a 1997 328iS 5 speed. I recently got a better job and commuting to college. The need for an auto car and higher income have prompted my search for a new car! I had decided my next car would be a 330Ci.

Of course being the BMW fan I am, immediately started looking into certified pre-owned 330Ci's in my area. I happened to be at one dealer waiting for some information, and decided to test drive an 03 G35 just to kill time and have some fun.

As soon as the engine turned over, and I gave it a quick rev, I couldn't help but smile. The exhaust note on the car was amazing!

Once I got out on to the street I decided to open it up, and was very impressed. The amount of torque and throttle response was great. The G35 wasn't as comfortable or well handling as the 330Ci, but it's just so much fun to drive!

I'm very tempted to look for G35's now, but am not sure of the reliability of Inifniti's. If people on this forum would like to convince me to get the G35 over the 330Ci I'd love to hear your input!

G35 > 330ci

I had an 04 loaded IP coupe and loved it, My boy with an 02 mint loaded 330ci, although looked pretty good, the G35 was far better. Faster, sounded better looked better everything. Even his girlfriend liked my car better he felt like **** haha. BMW interiors are cheap as hell and if you want Auto you could find a great deal on a used 03-04 G35 with decent miles for around 15-17k.

As far as I know the G is a very reliable car. Sure there are some minor issues that may arise, but that comes with every car.

Also, if you want people to give you the stare, then the G is the car for you. You heard the exhaust on this thing,

hearing it everyday is amazing if you ask me! This could be a good choice for you if you decide to give up the loyalty to the badge. haha jk.

I believe G35 has more potential over the 330 but they are both great cars. Just go with the one that drove better.

the exterior look of a G35 is actually one of the only things keeping me from liking it as much. Too rounded for my tastes.

i just sold my 06 g35 and i still have my 02 330i (white) and just bought a g37. i never fell in love with the looks of the 35 inside or out. the car looked too skinny and tall and felt like it sat very high and the interior didn't wow me. the g37 i have looks like it sits lower and wider and feels more substantial.

the 330 being a four model years older car is put together much better than the 35. no squeeks or rattle and much more usable torque. given the choice of the 330 or a g35, i would have to opt for the bmw.

now, as for the 37, i dont think i've ever liked car as much from first sight and drive since my twin turbo 300 zx.

The only thing I can suggest is to buy 05.

Interior designed changed from 03-04. Looks much better and products are much better. Lot's of small kinks were worked out and fixed in the car

And If you go auto you'll never have any problems with trany or motor.

I owned one for 2 pushing on 3 years now, got over 55k miles on it. Never had any Oil problems that exists on rev up motors. Never had any trany problems. Just usual recalls and small issues that don't take more then a day to fix .

here's a god link that can give you some history. the sedan i have, bought it new and just went over 50k. Never had any issues with the tranny ir engine, as long as you keep up the basic maintenance.

The sedans dont have the cool exhaust note and are slower and uglier.
