should i buy a 2004 G35X with 118k miles?
Hello guys,
I am thinking about buying a G35X....I was wondering if G35x with high miles would be reliable? I dont drive that much and they guy said most of the miles are highway driving. I thought it was a pretty good deal but at the same time I dont want it break down on me. I am thinking about buying an extended powertrain warranty. would that cover most of the problems?

actually i did some reasearch and there are some companies offer "powertrain plus" warranty on cars with 118k miles....the question is....is that enough to cover the problems I might have with high miles car?
Read those extended warranties carefully. Often times, they're not worth the money you pay for them. I've researched them before... For example, you might pay $1600 for a powertrain warranty that caps you at $2000 for trans issues, and $2500 for engine issues, so was it really worth your money?
Anyway, about the car...That mileage is pretty high, but for the right price, any car is a good car...I'd say pay no more than $11K-12K for it. You can get one around here with half the mileage for $14K-15K now....

I would avoid one with that many miles, it is AWD, and the car will need repairs... also think of it for a few thousand you can get a car with 60K or so... and if you go RWD you will save more money...

the asking price is 13,500. I figured I can bargin down more because I dont think a lot of people is interested in the car because of the high milage. I probably wont pay more than 9k for this thing. If I cant get it for 9k, I would go for something with less miles.

The X is a beast in the snow, but honestly, if you can find a RWD for less money, get it. WIth some snow tires, im sure it will be fine. (Well, thats atleast what everyone says. Shane is up there in Canada with a RWD..)
