I'm looking at buying a toy car on e-bay but I'm paranoid to send the person money and not get a car in return. What if any responsibility does e-bay take with deals like this ? To make it worse the guys auction ended before I could get things together to purchase the car so I have been talking to him about buying the car which is not even listed on e-bay anymore.

my question is how can I do a safe transaction on the car which is in California and I'm in Texas. Can but don't want to - make shipping arrangements then fly out there and give the car to a third party to ship, and fly home. Not willing to drive the car from CA to TX not knowing the reliability plus that's a loooong as drive....

any suggestions ? would it help anything to have him relist the car then buy it now from him on e-bay then e-bay would secure or insure the transaction somehow ?

 

I wouldnt be worried about the seller not sending the car, I would be worried about the car having lots of issues that would need to be repaired.

 

the drivetrain only has 19,000 original miles, and it is a vehicle I am very comfortable working on plus it will be a part time driver, so not too worried about all that.

 

just to be sure this protcets the buyer if the deal is done though e-bay correct ?
