Question 03.5 G35 Coupe for $15 - What do you think?

Hi Guys, newbie to the forum here =)

I'm in the market for a G35 and I found one at a local lot that was selling an 03.5 G35 Coupe AT for $15 K. 45K Miles. What do you guys think of that?

I personally checked out the vehicle, it looks pretty decent for an 03. A few nicks on the front bumper and whatnot, but nothing a nice paintjob could fix. It looks pretty good to me, the interior is VERY clean and looks almost un-used.

I checked out all the electronics on the inside, and of course, the problem with the window motor/regulator issue was there. The window will roll down, but may not come back up or vice versa, and one of the power seat controls (Middle switch. I think it controls the front part of the seat angling up and down) does not function. The dealer said he will take care of these issues before I sign anything. Everything else works no problem.

I test drove it, and wow, drives like she's been garaged all her life, and I just LOVE the unique sporty note of the exhaust when you gas it.

Carfaxed it and the results came in clean. Only 2 owners. Was driven in Jersey by one owner, and the second owner was the actual lot im getting it from.

But overall, just want to know what you guys think for this car and price. Let me know guys!

Eric

damn.

Yesterday i googled the VIN number on the car and the same place was advertising the car for 21,9. And that was a few months ago. Now it's down to 15K.Maybe the place just doesn't make good business? I dont know man, i'm trying to look on the positive side, lol

Mine had 46k miles and I paid 17k. It has everything aero/bose/brembos/6MT except navi. I bought it from an Infiniti dealer with a clean carfax. 15k for an AT sounds good to me. Just check it out with a mechanic.

In the year I've owned my G its KBB value has dropped just under $6K and I've put <10,000 miles on it.

It's possible they just want to move the car. See if they'll let a mechanic inspect it prior to purchase.

carfax is fake confidence. I had a 03 mustang i wreck. i had to replace like 40% of the car with the car being in the shop for almost 6 months, them trying to starighten out the chassis and a whole crap load of other stuff. But because it wasnt done through insurance( i had minimal coverage at the time) the car was sold to carmax with a so called "clean title" when they ran it. I feel bad for the person who purchased this "clean title" car but i ended up getting twice what i would have gotten if they would have know it was almost totaled. Like I said carfax is complete BS!

True, but thats an 03 stang. Repair costs are not the same. I don't think the majority of infiniti owners are driving around with minimal coverage.

So this guy at the place is really starting to **** me off.

He's giving me the runaround asking me for this and that. Telling me he can't give me a definite amount of what i'm going to pay a month if i don't bring "insurance for the g35" first. And not just a quote either. He said his "manager won't allow that". WTF?

So let me get this straight, he wants me to insure the car, and THEN he can tell me what im going to pay a month for it?

Forget that. I just applied for an individual auto loan at chase so let's see what happens.

So check this, I wanted to take the car for an inspection by a mechanic, but I don't know any personally, so I wanted to take it to Pepboys. The guy said his manager won't allow that but I got him to do it. By the time he was ready for me at 6PM, 40 mins passed by before the place closes (7PM). And he drives there slower than a grandma. We get there and surely enough, they're closed.

So I call him back and say "Listen, let's schedule this for another day." He goes "Oh, i told my manager we went already. so he's not gonna let me".

What to do here guys? That's BS to me. I'm going to talk to his manager directly then.

So Infiniti let's you take a mechanic with them to the place to inspect the car for a price?
