so if your buying a G35,lets say its $23,500 x .08%sales tax=$1880=$25380

 

so car sales tax isnt any different then regular sales tax?

when you buy private party you pay "used car tax" when you register it at the dmv. it will depend on how much you payed for the car

DMV Fees are very low. Here in Virginia it's only $38 for registration + $10 for title. Processing fees from dealers is a scam.

Sales tax is 3% here. That's gonna be your biggest fee.

 

Sales tax goes up 4/1 in CA, so hurry up. DMV registration and fees will be ~$200 depending on the year and how recently it was renewed. If the owner just paid it, it will be very little. What county do you live in? Tax may be as much as 10% come 4/1, as the new range will be 8.25-10.25%. Thanks, Arnold.
