What can I reasonably expect to pay for an '03 Coupe w/ 85k miles?
Hi guys, I'm interested in an '03 G35 Coupe with approx. 85k miles on it. The car is listed at $11,995. Car has every option except navi. What can I reasonably expect to pay for this car? Is $10k a possibility? Also, is 85k miles on these cars high? What should I look for when I look at the car. Thanks guys.
get what you can afford..
look around for a while.. dont jump the gun on the first bird you see..
you might just get the duck if your patient enough..
as far as 85k.. idk.. kinda high.. look for no more than 60k..
price.. 85k.. maybe 9 almost $10k..
but LOOK around..

Thanks for comments guys. I will look around more...what are g35's with 40-60k miles going for now?
check these few things:
compression rods - very noticeable knocking or creek noise at low / parking lot speed
hood hinges - hood should open very smoothly - should be free of any noise or resistance
window motors/door lock actuators - common to fail
rear sway bar links - light clunk will be heard at low speeds
oil consumption - i'm sure you've heard it before...
drivers seat rocking back/forth - will need seat track. quite expensive
climate/radio controls - CD unit is known to fail causing controls to freeze
clicking from rear axles when doing R to D or D to R - nothing to worry about, axles will needs to be lubricated. but its ammo to use when bargaining.
brake wear - 03 and 04's eat through rotors. check for a lip on the fronts it will be easy to spot as it will be shiny.
these cars aren't cheap. but if youre resourceful and good at DIY you will be able to maintain your vehicle for a reasonable cost.

Personally, I'd go for it. I'm in the same situation right now with an 03 thats got 77k. I can get it for about 10k and its got all the options with navi and 6mt and well taken care of. Keep in mind that mileage does play a large role when buying a car but its not the biggest factor. What plays a large role is how the car was taken care of. Any car can last for a long time as long is it was taken care of. If the car was well taken care of, I say you shoot him 9500 and buy it. Just IMO

Just curious as to what you paid for your G with 40k miles on. You can PM me if you don't want to say in public. Thanks.
Wow...that sounds like an amazing deal. Perhaps it's the area I'm in but the prices seem much higher than what I read on this forum.
