looking at a g35 coupe Base model... just a few questions.
Hey guys and girls. I'm looking at a 2004 g35 base model.... How much of a difference is their from the base models to the fully loaded models with the Navigation and all that? And the vehicles for sale with Navi seem to be about $2k more... I'm on a budget.. just graduated college and still earning pennies... College ruined my credit so I'm stuck with high interest rates. n I just totaled my 09 Lancer... Figured I'd get a car worth value.. that will atleast help my image so to speak lol. thanks for any advice.

How does college ruin your credit? I thought not paying your bills ruined your credit..
The post above lists a lot of the differences. It depends on what you want and which things you intend to upgrade over time.
If you want leather, there you go - no base model.
If you want NAV, ditto.
If you want upgraded stereo, ditto. True, double din is easy later.

i say get an 05 model G. the coupes all come with sunroof and leather. most G's come with the bose. the base has nonsport bumpers, no mudgaurds, no spoiler, and basic 17s. the sport model/ aero model adds spoiler 18s, sport bumper and sport suspension, and i believe the premium adds the navi and 19's rays. but u might want to wait for a better answer. i have an 04, and i wish i would have gotten the 05 cuz they upgraded the speedometer, the plastic trim was replaced with real aluminum trim, and u get the full range power seat.

Just try to find an '04 without nav, they don't work all that well sending you the wrong direction. Low mileage '04 coupe is your best bet, I couldn't do without my sunroof. The '04s don't have issues with oil consumption like the later models do thanks to Nissans poor quality piston rings....G/L

My 06 G35 Coupe is pretty close to base. Many of the extras, I just don't really miss. I have no sunroof, a base stereo, and the tilt wheel/telescopic options are manual w/friction locks instead of electric. The one thing that would be really cool to have would be VLSD. I have always had sunroofs in my Acuras and Hondas, so I miss that a little, but I like the look of the car without and you don't see many like that. One thing I was also looking for was no spoiler, as I like the clean look without it. Not that I dislike the spoiler, but it seems like the back deck is already tall enough without.

I remember when I was shopping for mine in late '03 (not sure how much this would apply to an '05), the base model was an amazing value compared to Audi and BMW. The premium package that I got with the nav system, titanium accents, and Bose system was awesome but the car is fantastic without it, and many people prefer to upgrade the stereo themselves. With a standalone GPS so cheap these days it's a no brainer to just buy an add-on. But in 2004 it was mindblowing for an LCD screen to rise up from the dash and tell you where to go. It probably got me laid a few extra times. Thanks Infiniti.
So as long as you've got leather seats and 6mt you are in business. Sunroof is great and I use it all the time, but you can easily live without it. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on tires and fuel.
