Buying My First G35. HELP!

Hey Guys,

I'm fairly new to the forum and I am in the process in purchasing a G35, and I need some suggestions or comments on the overall price of these cars for the value. Here is a list of the cars I looked for:

1) 2005 Infiniti G35 w/ Premium Package -$14,995
Mileage: 79,391
Interior: Black
Exterior: Grey

2) 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe - $14,990
Mileage: 70,559
Interior: Black
Exterior: Liquid Platinum Metallic* (I believe its grey)

3) 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe - $12,976
Mileage: 79,306
Interior: Black
Exterior: Black

Your suggestions or advice is well appreciated. Thanks!

-Kirk Kirby

Hi bro, I'm pretty new to the forum but I will try to help you,

For myself I have a 2005 black coupe with premium package what premium package include is...Dual-sliding glass sunroof with one-touch open/close feature, Bose audio system with 8 speakers, auto on/off headlights, power tilt/telescoping steering, A/C dual zone, automatic anti-glare rearview mirror.

The question is do you need those thing and is it worth 10 k more miles or 2k$ ?

The next question is do you want black or grey ?

Next thing is to check all the 3 irl, look for some small detail that can help reducing the price, they look prety much in the same price and miles range so it is kinda hard to help you.

Good thing to stay in the 2005 version for the rev-up imo.

To myndz

Hey myndz,

Thanks for the reply and the useful tips. Yes, I would like to have all those premium options, just a quick question, this might be stupid but I'm pretty new to the G35 itself, what's "
rev-up imo"? Not really sure what that is but everyone is talking about that here in the forum.

Thanks!

No problem,

The non rev-up version is the 2003-2004...
From 2005 you get the rev up basicly it corected a lot of small issue that the 2003-2004 had.
Plus it gives you a bit more rev getting up to 7000rpm wich adds a bit of hp.
Imo just stand for "In My Opinion"

@myndz,

I'd like to know more if you don't mind about your ride. How many miles did it have when you bought yours? What fix/maintainance did you needed to get done if any so far?

No prob,

I bought it last year it had 60k must be at 63k now didnt run it much since I'm in Quebec,Canada it is stored for the winter.

Maintenance, nothing to serious the person who owned it had some cheap coilover so I changed it to the OEM suspension wich didnt suit my need ... I wanted to be lower so I changed to KW Variant 1 wich are not installed yet but bought. I will post a review on the coilover as soon as my car is out probably next month if the weather allows me.

Other thing:
The lightning 2 bulb where blown so I changed those nothing to expensive...
Front / left radius rod is blown so I need to fix this also...
Rattle in the trunk caused by some cheap plastic Ive removed those...
I did some basic sound dampening because the vibration from the radio was intense...
Tire changed and brake maintenance was done...
If you are an audio maniac I recommend upgrading the bose radio there is a lot of thread for radio DIY on the forum go check them out.
Oil change...

Prety much it for now...

Rev-up = 2005 & up MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS ONLY VQ35DE
No automatic DE's 2003 - 2007 are Rev-up

Ok, Thanks! Sounds like nothing is too major but also considering you've only put 3K miles on it. Does the weather up there affect the engine components at all? Esp. when the car is not driver too much?

Everything I said was MT oriented idk about AT.
I store it in a heated place with controled humidity.
So it keeps it ok

Just checked out the cars yesterday.... I happen to stumble on to another G in one of the dealerships and this one really caught my eye! It's a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe, Grey, Only had minor scratches on one wheel. No scratch at all on the paint except for a mesh on the left rear quarter panel- should be easy to fix by detailing. The best part only has 68K miles and was only selling for $15,400. Car looks really new though. Better than the cars listed above. I believe it's not the premium but still had its bells and whistles.

It sounds like it doesn't have any mechanical issues but definitely getting the car with a full warranty. Don't want to drive this car without warranty. All the mechanical issues mentioned in this forum scares the crap out of me so hopefully the car will have no issues. Any advice on warranties?
