Thinking of buying a G35 coupe before relocating to LA

I currently live in Houston Texas and have been looking for a G35 coupe. I wanted to know from LA members if they would recommend owning this car in terms of gas milelage, safety, and torque with the hills. Please share your experiences with this vehicle in LA.

Well gas mileage is going to suck. But for the rest of it, it is a fun car to drive. When you coming to LA.

In a few months thanks for the reply. When you fill up in the beginning of the week how long does it last you?

It could last a month or it could last a day, how many miles do you plan on driving a day?

Yeah it sucks up gas pretty good.
I drive about 35 miles round trip to work every day on side streets, the freeway and local canyons.
I LOVE IT! Especially the canyon part.
I'm lucky enough to be driving against traffic for the most part though.
If I had to be in traffic I don't think it would matter what car I was driving, I'd just be miserable.

First, don't come to LA if you can help it. Place is a dump and overcrowded.
Power, torque etc. will be fine except for the gas mileage. I have a 6 mile drive to work, which takes about 45min (standard in la) and eats half a tank of gas per week.
The g is not a small car, you will have to parallel park it a lot in la, keep that in mind.

If you are lucky enough to be moving at 65+ than you might average around 20mpg. I do mean lucky because there is construction and accidents pretty much anywhere you go so you will likely not get to cruise much on the freeways unless its 2am.

Also...potholes are a standard feature in la so I wouldn't use nice wheels with low profile tires.

It's great. Traffic does suck when you have a 6spd. ALso like the rest have said, not too great on mpg. but a great car to own none the less... i always get great compliments for mine.

Depends where you live, but they are kind of old. Unless you put shiny wheels on them or something. They are a dime a dozen in most parts of la. They are pretty old and most people wont even notice them in many parts of la. Not when like every few minutes you see like a tesla model S. I swear they must have sold over half of them to socal.

Yeah, didn't realize it until I spent some time out of LA, but people in socal spend an inordinate amount of money on their cars, probably because they spend an inordinate amount of time in their cars.
