G35 as first car
#31
in all honesty the best choice for a first car is going to be down the honda route. imo.imo. imo. imo. imo........an accord coupe or civic si (sounds like you want a little sportier since youre considering a G) would be a great choice here. the reliability on those stupid things is incredible. personally ive had 5 hondas in my family 4 got over 300k miles and the 5th...well the damn thing did 800k (600k miles orig trans, another 200k once the engine went).
I have considered SI for a while, I still do a bit, but the thing is I see them everywhere, and I want something original, not something that half the population has.

I understand that an economical car like a honda would be better for first car but the reason why I worked my *** so hard was to get an awesome car that I really like.

It probably adds to the pleasure of owning one, doesn't it

I'm 18, soon to be 19, and I have an 04 coupe. My insurance is really high. Mostly because I got into an accident back in May that was my fault. I'm not sure the exact numbers, but my insurance jumped over $40 a month after my accident. I'm not sure of the actual monthly payment though. I'm still on my parents' policy so even though I pay for my insurance, I don't know how much it is. As far as a first car, it should be fine. I learned how to drive on a stripped down manual Ford Ranger. Total opposite of a G35 coupe. However, the G35 is a great car. As long as you're not a total idiot with the car you'll be fine. I live in Atlanta so premium is around $3.40 a gallon.I normally pay around $60 bucks a tank and I fill up maybe once a week. I also drive 20 miles one-way to work 4 days a week. If I didn't have as long of a commute to work, I think I could make it a week and a half without filling up (driving conservatively of course).
