Looking to buy...Need Advice..

Hey guys,

On my search for a used vehicle I came across something that looks very appealing. I've always wanted a G35 but in my area they come few and far between under $10k. However, I found an 04 G35 A/T with 170k for $6500. I don't have any experience with Infiniti products, and the mileage is always a worrisome factor, so I was hoping y'all could give me some input on whether I should pursue this deal or not. Thanks for your help.

Mileage is high! Check sevice records first! Price might seem good but you might spend more than that to keep it going!!!

Too many miles for a VQ. Is the car stock?

As far I know it is..

Are there some serious known issues with that motor at that kind of mileage?

I'd listen very carefully for timing chain rattle on cold startup, and knocking in the engine.

Life expectancy of high mileage vehicles all depends on how well it was maintained. Service history records would be a good thing to have here. If the car hasn't had basic things done, like transmission service, and other fluids, it might be a headache waiting to happen.

Not much we can say here other than that's a lot of miles for any car really.

It does have high mileage... but if everything checks out on it i'd say thats a pretty decent deal, is it a clean title? Any vehicle can last long as long as it has been well maintained and cared for. If you go for it i'd try negotiating with him on the price focusing on any small repairs you might have to do (Ex: tires, scratches, dents, rips in leather, stains, etc.) Hoped I helped some and good luck
