If you get the coupe, it makes sense to opt for the 6MT. Absolutely no regrets here. I had an AT sedan before the coupe; very fine AT too.

Well I have had my 5at for about 2 and a half years now ... next week im trading it in for a brand new 05 6mt ... didnt even drive the 6mt as I didnt want to make a fool out of myself as my stick driving skills are very limited as of now ... that was one of the reasons that I went with the AT when I got it and the classic traffic excuse ... well ... the 5at is a nice car, I truelly enjoyed it the whole time I had it, but .... there was always something missing and I wished I got the 6mt (95% of the time). I am sure I will enjoy my new ride ... going black on black this time, I know its tough to keep clean, but just cant resist it.

I got the 6mt and I would do it again. No regrets even when I had to put up with driving in Houston traffic.

I love the 6MT. I'm not a fan of automatics at all. Everytime I drive a friend's automatic I can't wait to get back into my manual.

If you get an AT you tend to drive it the same way. If you get a MT, you drive differently depending on what YOU want to do. I would get the MT over AT except in certain conditions. For example, if you lived in San Francisco and had stop signs or parallel parking requirements at 20 - 40 % incline, the MT would be impractical (it would suck). Otherwise, the MT is a whole lot more fun.

If you live in San Fran with a manual it just means you need to make REALLY good friends with your hand brake.

i used to live in san francisco and driving stick isn't even a problem. No need to used the hand brake. Traffic isn't a problem either. Just leave it in first and let it roll by itself.

I would NEVER settle or get an automatic for this type of car. 6mt is the way to go.

I just wish the AUTOs never existed for the coupes.

LOL . . . Not really. You simply have to know your car. However . . . Yes . . . If there is a long line of cars on a steep hill . . . I get quite intimate with my hand brake. LOL . . .

for the first month or so I regretted..
the clutch was too stiff for me at the moment..

Funny thing was Dealer lend me a loaner (auto G35 sedan) the first week, I loved it and I thought I should have gotten Auto.
BUT after 2 years later, again they lend me Auto G35..
I never knew how boring Automatic was until that day.

I can't imagine myself getting 5spd Auto for G35 coupe..
maybe for something like Mercedes...
