Need 06 invoice pricing!
Ok Mr. Hotshot Nissan Sales manager, I recall you said I couldnt even get halfway to invoice price??? I cant get a deal on an 06? Well hows 2% over invoice ( thats between 600 and 700$ over invoice ) sound to you Nostradumba$$??? Yeah thats right, AND I got that deal for a 6MT also. So before you go around talking mess like you know everything maybe you should learn better skills as a salesman starting with your attitude to potential customers. Oh btw Mark Mangrum at North Houston Infiniti and Allison Cohen at Sewell Infiniti could teach you quite a bit on how to do business.

My time is worth more than that too, but most dealers are so damn aggressive in trying to screw you that you have to haggle no matter whether you are cheap person or not. And as long as you are haggling, why not haggle for th elowest price.
Now I dont mind paying even 1 k over invoice if I get good service and do not get my time wasted, but the damn dealer was offering me some ridiculous prices. He asked for $540 a month and 3k down to lease an 05 6mt G without navigation!!!! Well, with dealers like these you just have to shop around for weeks.

. And I knew you could do it also for the MT
. What configuration are you getting?
I'd like to contribute to this thread. Its hilarious how G35MR2 forgot to mention other dealer/manufacturer incentives such as bulk pricing, turnover discounts. In other words, bigger dealerships that have more car on their lots are able to sell at a lower price because they are getting more discounts than a smaller sized dealership.
You didn't give me any new information regarding the holdback, everyone...well I sure knew about that when I was 16 shopping for my first car.
And don't dictate to the consumer re: their shopping habits please. You just want to strongarm the consumer when he is "ready" to buy ... to pressure him. That is such a known tactic. I, for one, as a consumer have a RIGHT to come into the dealership as many times as I want, kicking tires, asking questions, etc. If you don't want to make a sale off me, then throw salesman joe schmuck to me and I'll give him the eventual sale.
And the dealership/consumer relationship is and has not always been a friendly one. Bottom line is: If a customer comes in and offers MSRP for the 06, you won't go to him and say..."No, no...You can have it for INVOICE + 1000" will you? Cmon grow up, this is a business...everyone for their own.
/end rant.

TomCat, your pretty good you got half of this statment right!
Oh man pleassseee be sure to check in on this thread on Sunday morning? I just think you are a bitter college student pissed off that somone is actually getting a good deal on car that no one will be buying from you. Again you dont know me, you have no information about me, and yet you make blanket statements like these.....yes there are VERY GOOD salesmen out there...infact I am dealing with one right now. But you are definitely not among those, you need an attitude readjustment if you are going to last in this business.

Great thread! I will read more when I'm not on the company clock.
I did want to post some questions since we're on dealer/buyer relationships...
1. Why does it seem like some charade when the dealer has to go off everytime something changes to 'discuss' it with his manager. (Does he really go to the breakroom and have another donut and coffee? ) Why not just keep the manager there? LOL
2. Is it standard dealer training, for the dealer to go through his sales personalities (straightforward dealer that asks what you can afford/wheel and deal/wheel and deal more/finally talks about how much it's hurting him/her to make this deal, because it cuts into his/her commission *sp*)?
3. Even after the deal is made, they send in some other person to add more to the price.....? i.e scotch-guarding/coatprotection/underbody treatment (for my truck anyway)
Please add more if you see fit.
I'm looking forward to buying an '06 6mt coupe, but the thought of working with a dealer gives me those ill thoughts. (it's been 5 years now) Luckily, this time I'm going through UBS, and the prices are set.

Well thats pretty much the whole process in a nut shell.
Again TOMCAT good luck in your buy, but liek I said, and you dont have to agree with me, You most likley will not get much of a discount on a 06 G35 coupe. But Good Luck. Once you finally get it, you will love the car. Its great.
Oh and one more thing TOMCAT, I bought my G at VPP Pricing so no reason for me to be bitter.
You may be a senior in college, but apparently you cant even READ
You are still saying that I cant get a deal on an 06??? Ok Mr. F&I manager, if you OPEN your EYES, read one line at a time, you will notice that I posted that i got my 06 coupe fully loaded for 700$ over invoice. DO...YOU....COMPREHEND....THAT???? Man if you cant get that I dont know how to get through to you. Also I am 22 with a Double Major and a Double Minor and I am already making more money than you have made in the last 4 years at your dealership combined, so believe me I have no reason to be JEALOUS of YOU of all the people. You can sit and back pedal and try to sound all logical and informative now, what do you have to say now that I got that deal?? So once again do not come in here and show off your ignorance. I feel bad for the people unfortunate enough to deal with you at whatever dealership you work at.

You got invoice pricing info (base model and option pricing)? As soon as the 06s hit norcal, I'll begin my shopping again! My company is eligible for VPP pricing, but I'll try to get a better deal
I was shopping for the 05s and I didn't take advantage of the VPP pricing because I already gotten $1000 below invoice on the 6mts. After seeing skylar's 06 pics, I'm glad that I held out, the 06s looks sweet!

Are you sure you are in college? Let me help you out, actually, actual, guaranteed, and business. I have a lot of friends that go to Temple and I know that can spell a hell of a lot better than you. Obviously you've been selling cars for awhile.

Invoice price is accually the true price that the dealer pays for the vehicle. What you guys see on edmunds, carsdirect, Kelly Blue Book, are all REAL accual invoices. When dealing with the price of a car, you do not want to add hold back into the mix. The hold back IS NOT 1% for every vehicle, its different for each vehicle. Hold back is typicly $500 to $800. That money is garenteed money, commition if you want to put it, that the dealer is going to get. Also that money is already spent, paying staff, and maintaining the car. No dealer in the right mind will give you a invoice - hold back price. It's just plain stupid. Now if a dealer is telling you that, then they are holding money eles were. IE interest or trade. If you feel that you have a good deal, then chances are that you do indeed have a good deal. Keep in mind, the dealers arent makeing thousands upon thousands on a single purchase.
Nissan employee prices are $100 over invoice + dealer prep fees. That means that if you buy that car for accual invoice or under, you are getting a better deal that I can get. And you know what? It really makes me sick when I see people haggeling for dollars a month, or hundreds of dollars on a price. If the car fits in your budget, if the car is perfect, YOU like the dealership and the service, and you have a good sales man; just buy the freakin car and stop killing your self over it, because it is not worth the trouble that your putting you and the dealer ships through. To sum it all up, the dealer ship has to make money too. Just like any other buisness. Put your self in their shoes for a day and you would see how it is. Like i said, if the price and payment work for you, and the car is right, just do it, and get on with your life, and start loving you new G35.

Good for you TOMCAT, If that is what you really got, then Im happy for you. I didnt see that you posted that right before my post. I dont see why a dealer would do that, and i really think that there may be some thing eles that you may not be aware about; although if it makes sense to you, then thats all that matter. Good luck with your new automobile.
Hyun83, sorry, i dont use spell-check when im typing fast on forums, is it really necessary?
