Well seeing you are a beginner I will point you to electric cars. Reason for this is that nitro cars needs more attention and tuning. Yokomo electric drift package is one way to go. But essentially any rc cars can do it, now these are not cheap cars you have to remember that they do not come with a remote and servos. So you are looking at roughly $300 for the cars and another 200 for the remote. Then you will need batteries and charger that will set another $200 bucks.
A cheaper route would be the HPI minis but you still need the mini servos and baterries and charger. Other option Radio shack rc cars, disadvantages of those is you can't set the suspension setup like the others. Either way is an expensive hobby.

Yes, I was into racing electric cars indoors for years. The batteries regulary needed to be replaced, along with servos, tires, substitute remote frequencies. Fortunately the bodies weren't too expensive but they needed to be painted of course.
I toyed with the gas ones briefly but that was much more expensive and the venues were more limited.

Oh yeah
i played R/C a while ago.
i built TB evolution (cost me about 850 CDN) which is made of all CF.
i modified the battery (regular is 6 1.5V i think).
i did not buy the whole pack of battery.
i bought 8 single battery and welded together (remember every battery i bought was the same voltage!!!!)
i have seen some drift car that they change their motor in the middle of the car ( like real car: RWD)
also i have seen some video. they drift like D1s.
i dont know if you guys believe me or not, but this is true lol
btw, i wanna sell my R/C cars if anyone is interested in it.
2 TB evolution.
One was first one came out, another one was upgraded one that solved the previous one.
1 gas truck.
pm me if you are interested
thank you

although i could not do the stricker on the bumper and hood, it was too much work.
yeah what rbull said,
you needed to buy lots lots of tires
it ran out so quickly.
"mine was summer tire that used in the different weather"

I was into R/C cars and trucks for years and years.. Start with electric.. It's cheaper although not much.. The nitro ones are really fun, but require alot more maint. It's by no means a cheap hobby!!
