2 month old '05 G35c & got a Tire related Q.

Hello,

Finally got my G35c (brilliant silver) '05 AT. I need to prep for the first winter and I'd like other G35c owners that have winter driven their cars to provide any insight on whether the car can handle the Toronto winter conditions on a set of all-seasons or are winters the only option (I'm not sure how well winters can handle the slush/wet conditions we usually have on the highways)

best regards to all and thanks for any info.

VM3

All season will not do at all, as for winter driving normal winter like last year is fine. But this year we should be having a brutal one so under heavy snow and ice etc I would leave her at home.

Welcome,
Get winter tires. Hankook Ice bears seem like a real bargan at under 150 a tire. I'm considering these.
tiretrends.com
Otherwise I'd go with michilen or blissak's.
For winter drivng snow tires are a must.
Lots of discussion on the forum about tires and winter setups. Do a search and entertain yourself

All season tires are really no-season tires.

www.bigwheelz.com- tell Harry you're a g35driver member. I'm currently running 235/50-17 and 225/50-17 blizzak LM22s on Sport Edition (TireRack's brand) E2s. Harry is very good to deal with. I would recommend the Pirelli 210s over the LM22s if you're in the GTA. I had the Pirellis (same set-up) but sold them with my first G coupe. Much better in the cold dry and wet- the only place the blizzaks are better is in deep snow or glare ice conditions.

Cheers,
D

Winter tires are a must have...
I have the 18" LM22 Blizzaks. I have never had a problem with traction, even in alberta winters. I also got them from Harry at Bigwheelz.com. He was by FAR the best price i could find, online or offline.
I would highly recommend him.
