Question "Side Marker MOD Install Guide"

Hello,

I was over at 6mt.net and I found a tutorial on how to make the side markers blink with your turn signal.

http://www.6mt.net/mod-g35-sidemarker.php

Can anyone that knows about wiring confirm this is safe? I am considering doing it, but know little about wiring (I follow instructions well though )

Also, for a leased car, you think Infiniti would care/notice?

Troy

I know some ppl on the board who have done that. However, I personally is not comfortable with splicing wires in the wheel well..

I too have heard of some doing the mod, BigG, but unfortunately, some have had wiring issues after too.....
I'm not convinced our elect. system is completely compatible with this mod.,
tho there are many who would swear it's fine.....

I personally don't feel it's worth the risk.

Thanks for the replies, fellas.

I was primarily looking for a unanimous "do it man, its awesome" to even consider it. Perhaps the potential problems far outway the minute cosmetic detail. I'll just stick to the clear corners for now ($50 bux for 2 peices of plastic, don't get me started on that)

after all the money I've spent on my G, the price of the clear corners seemed like a handling fee I happily paid. It only gets worse from now on bro.

Chico is right bro.....Clear corners are relatively cheap and an effective mod for the money.
You'll like the mod even without the blinking....

Personally I don't think the method in the DIY is very good.
I remember one member that had an ECU problem & Infiniti would not warrantee the repair.

I have modded my side markers to flash, but employed a more sophisticated circuit using diodes.

There is also another method using relays but some functionality is lost.

Cutting to the chase..... best to leave them as they are.

Why bother especially on a leased car? Not worth the hassle and risk IMHO.

Yeah, I popped the wheel off to scope out the situation and I don't have the ***** to do it. That's the end of that idea.

It is not just cosmetic, it is also for safety. I did this mod about 6 months ago and so far no problems.

I agree, that's why I did mine.
Our turn signals are completely forward facing & shrouded.
Someone on your quarter has no idea if you are planning a turn.

First thing I did to my G, along with a drop... works fine, no problems. I only used tape too... If you've worked with wiring before, then you should have no problem. I just don't like how it reverses the blinking when your headlights are on.

Well, with the replies I received after my last post, I must ask...is anyone that has done this mod going to be at the sept. 16 meet? I would really like to speak face to face about the following,

inTgr8r, or others, please elaborate on this, because if it is infact a hazard, I should once again seriously consider doing this.

Thank You,
Troy
