Had Good Experience with Village Nissan for Oil Change

Over the last weekend, I wanted to change my oil. Went to Mr. Lube and they were charging $39.99 using their own brand of filter and I will have to add another $9 for an OE filter. Called Village Nissan on Hwy 7/Kennedy. They said they charge $34.99 for their oil change. Hmmm. What's wrong Mr. Lube? They are charge too damm much. Village Nissan did a decent job in lubing my hood and they did it in less than an hour on Saturday. I am much happier than having to drop the car off to Willow Infiniti which is much further than where I live.

And if you got the Nissan coupon, it was only $25.99 + tax

I bought my 2003 Maxima from Village and I've been very happy with their services overall. They sometimes waive certain charges too but at the end of the day, they're a dealership so they charge a lot on anything else except oil changes. It was a good thing that I only had to turn the rotors once and change the brake pads once all through the 100,000 km that I had on my Max.

On the other hand, I bought my G from Willow. I'm not exceptionally happy with their services. The people are nice but a lot of things they said they could do before I bought the car ended up not materializing after I got my car. I mean come on, they can't even fill up the gas tank when they delivered the car when I paid over $1500 for freight and PDI! On top of that, they have ridiculous service hours - they close at 5 pm and they don't open on Saturdays? What's with that? I think I'm going to Village for my regular maintenance since it's closer to my home and I'll go to Willow for warranty services. Last time I got a loaner car for a warranty related issue, they wanted to charge me $10!

BTW, anyone know if Yorkville is a good dealership or not?

Yorkville...most people here stay away from there since Jerry(KRAFTWERKZ) left the service dept. for Erin Mills Mazda.
They lost alot of buisness since he left...

Try Alta Infiniti or Oakville Nissan/Infiniti. Many are happy with their service.

Hey I use Mr. Lube or Jiffy Lube in a pinch, but I supply the Motul v300 and the oil filter and crush washer and I watch them like a hawk. They actually get a kick out of it when I bring her in for an oil change. Everytime I drive by the shop they see me and wave like they are my best friends.

I've never had a problem with them and it's not because I don't want to get my hands dirty (I do everything else on my car). I just don't want to have to do it myself because I don't have any way to get rid of the old oil.

well...that's different if you supply them everything. Labour is relatively the easy part, I'm more concerned about the oil and filter quality they use.

I could see your point about the oil, but you can always get a genuine Nissan filter from them. I used them a couple of times without any issues. Also, the dealership probably buys drums of oil as well, so I would be concerned about that as well.

It's more than the dealership, but you pay for convenience!

I bougth a Sentra Spec-V from Village before I traded it in for the G. Loved Village's service. They were open late and were very pro-active in recalls. I too bougth my G from Willow. Their service staff seemed to have rotated quite a bit since 2004. I hate the way you wait in that seating area and the service person broadcasts your whole problem to all who can sit and hear. The owner their needs to spend some money fixing up the place.!!!!!

The loaner system isn't too bad. They don't make you fill up the gas but they don't give you much to start and it only costs $10.

They (Willow) tried to get $10.60 from me as "Administration Fee" for a loaner vehicle when I brought my X in for warranty work. I got another X but that thing was so dirty inside, it's unbelievable what people do in the car - and the thing only had 5,000 km on it. Anyway, I talked to my Sales Manager there about the $10.60 and they waived it. I don't get it, why do we have to pay anything when it's part of the "Total Ownership Experience" especially when it's for warranty work? I called Consumers Affairs at Infiniti and they said I'm supposed to get a loaner car for both maintenance work and warranty work ...

To top it off, Infiniti charges you $50 for an oil change and you pay $10 for a loaner car but if you go to Nissan, you pay $30 for an oil change and you can get a loaner car for $20 at Village - so why would you need to go to Infiniti? Maybe if they give me an M/Q loaner or something .... hahaha .... can't wait to get a 2007 sedan as a loaner!
