My Rant

Nearly got run over today.....along with the kids.

Someone in a hurry who was backing out of their driveway without looking, nearly got all 3 of us this morning......

I got a sheepish look and smile from the 'driver', but that's it.
I'm glad one of us was paying attention.

I think this damned weather puts some people in 'stupid mode'.

/RANT (and glad to still be here.)

Colin, Dayne and Sid.

If the kids had gotten hurt, I would've come out there for some serious retribution.

Glad you're all fine Colin. I hear 'ya on the "stupid mode" although some people seem to have an extended or permanent season.

I wish I had a dollar for every close call I've had running the roads.

Unfortunate truth is that stupidity gets the best of us all from time to time. Maybe a back up monitor should be required in all cars. I'm glad to hear you and the kids weren't hurt. If nothing else hopefully the incident scared a lesson into that driver.

:/ Glad you and the guys are ok Colin. I'd go over in the evening and talk to them about their driving habits. Eventually they're gonna hit a kid or something.

Thanks, Kevin, That's probably a good idea. I hadn't thought of that.

Having 'cooled' somewhat, I'd be more coherent now anyway....

Come to think of it, he did look a little green........
I hope it shook him up. Backing up a vehicle, you just cannot be too careful.

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone......

That's the truth isn't it.........

Come to think of it, I've had some close calls over the years walking the kids too......those of us that travel the sidewalks a lot must have, but what bothered me more than anything this morning was that my foot still hurts like the dickens and meant that I'm not as mobile as I usually am.
Like I said, I was watching closely due to past 'experiences'........

let's hope he does too from now on.

It's amazing that after all these years of driving in ice and snow of Canada that some people just don't get it?

Slow down and be aware of your surroundings and be SAFE.

Colin, so glad you are okay and that nothing bad happened. From your story, Kevin's and Deane's recent stories it sounds like some people are definitely in stupid mode.

Glad to hear that you and the kids are fine Colin!

Driving into work today, the highway was snow covered from our snow yesterday and overnight. Needless to say, traffic was going slower than usual. There was a Toyota 1/4 ton truck that passed me rather quickly. Less than 30 seconds later, he veers back to the right hand lane cutting the person off in front of me, and then takes an exit off the highway. Anissa could tell that my blood was boiling. Both the car in front of me and myself have to brake rather quickly while this F'ing idiot swerves over two lanes and takes the goddamn exit.........all on snowcovered roads. I was livid!
