Colin.
so is anyone going to try to meet up and ride down together or anything?

also... has anyone received any kind of itinerary for the event... showing what's going on.. perhaps anything we should bring? proper shoes etc... i was going to bring my motorcycle helmet.. as i'm thinking it's probably going to be a better fit than anything they would give us.

btw.. i'm at weston/401

Roman,
Other than a receipt of payment, I've not received anything else from AAE organization, but I'm assuming that they'll supply any gear we need, and if memory serves, we get to keep some kind of headgear, and gloves that they supply for our use......I suppose if you have the proper driving footware, that would be better (I'm just wearing my runners) -- likewise with helmets ,etc., if you have them.......

Would be cool to meet up at a convenient spot at a certain time, and as far as I've read on their site, we need to be there by 12 for lunch and a sitdown to explain the afternoon activities...for us it looks like a 3 hour, afternoon event......

Isn't there a service center not far east of TO on the 401.....somewhere near Port Hope that we could meet at??? I'm easy and will meet at any location........

I'll have Deane (RBull) and Whatacar (Sam. T.) with me, Ian will come down the 400 to hook onto the 401, and Sammy JL is east Toronto/401 area, so all hooking up at a certain time and place is doable......just have to decide what is the best place.......suggestions???

Sam(myJL), are you out there with any suggestions for hookup that morning?
I'm leaving Cambridge area about 8am and expecting a 3 hr drive to Shannonville......should get us there b4 noon, comfortably with time to look around and find good parking.
Only variable for us is the GTA 401 traffic.

2 weeks today.......can't wait.....

Colin.

i take the 401w every morning to dixie... i'm on the hwy at around 7:30ish... it's gridlock on the 401 eastbound just before eglinton. not sure how this is all going to pan out.

i'm also flexible on meeting up somewhere... preferably off the 401 somewhere.

i think i'm going to email the guy we sent the cheque's to. it's summer time which = shorts and sandals for me. somehow that ensemble doesn't particularly scream out ariel atom experience though

Exclamation Itinerary/Info for Track Day

guys got some good info:

Hi Roman,

Yes, I will be emailing you out an itinerary in the next day....you beat me
to it by a day....

To answer you direct questions:

1. You are scheduled for an afternoon session so we ask that you arrive
between 11:15-11:30am. This gives you time to register and get suited up in
the driving gear before lunch.

2. In regards to what to wear.....We supply everything besides footwear.
Driving suit, gloves, and Helmet. You will need to wear comfortable flat
soled shoes and socks. Many people are most comfortable wearing shorts and
a t-shirt under the driving suit.

We have a wide range of sizes for helmets and ask that you use ours as they
are wired for communication between you and the instructor, as well as a
2-way radio in case of emergency.

Day Schedule

11:30AM - Registration/suit up

12:00pm Lunch

12:30pm - 1:30pm Safety intro/Performance driving Overview

1:30pm - 4:30pm Alternating on-track sessions(15 minutes each)

Session #1 - Lead/follow drop back
Session #2 - Lead/follow drop back(Increased speed)
Session #3 - Lead/Follow pass by

4:30pm - 5:00pm - Hot laps with instructor if you desire.

I have attached the guest letter to this email. If you have any further
questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks again. Look forward to seeing you at the track.
see attached for more info

We can hook up anywhere along the 401 East of Whitby. The service centre near Port Hope would be fine.

Roman are you still considering riding your bike down to the event, weather permitting of course? I'm still up for that. You could meet up with me at the 401/Brock street exit in Whitby, say at the GO station parking lot around 8:00-8:30, if you want and then we could meet up with the rest of the guys at the service stop further East.

I'm open to any suggestions at this point.

i've actually got a friend coming along with us. so i'm gonna be taking the car instead. i think you were right before... kind of a long ride on a supersport especially if we hit traffic.

i'm up for meeting at the port hope location... wherever that is lol.

damn... i just looked it up... port hope is way out there.. past the 35/115. i was thinking closer to toronto... but whatever... i'm sure we'll figure something out.

TNX for posting the guest letter, Roman.....which explains everything.
Looks like we need to arrive shortly after 11 to finish registration, suit up and make it to lunch.
I wonder if the 407 would work better for me to avoid most of the rush in the morning? Might be well worth the extra $$.

That service center we want to meet at is just west of Port Hope and I think is the first one coming out of Toronto/Pickering/Whitby/Oshawa along 401 east.- and is just past the Newtonville rd area.
